The world was dark but as she opened her eyes the light filtered her vision. Trish blinked at the bright light and looked around her. The ninja and the others huddled around the hospital bed as she pushed herself to sit up. The look of weariness showed on all their faces as relief spread over it at her as she awoke.
"It's good to see you awake again, we were worried that you wouldn't make it." Nya smiled at Trish as she returned it. At the corner of her eye, Trish spotted Dr. Julien fixing something on her left.
"Well, because of the great amount of blood lost over the period of time that you were in the Doom Dimensions you were unconscious for a few hours." Dr. Julien put his tools away in his tool box that he carried with him and smiled with satisfaction, "Now try it out."
Trish was confused at first but after she felt the heaviness in her left arm she understood. She raised her left arm and flexed her new robotic hand. Sadness filled Trish as the memory returned to her. Kai put a gentle hand on her shoulder, "You saved Ninjago and that's way greater than losing your hand, even though it'll be different."
Trish grinned slightly at his words of comfort, "Yeah, I guess now I'm more like my father." A single tear fell down her face and dripped unto her hospital gown as the memory of the man that could have been a father to her.
"No, way! Your dad was crazy and needed to be put down," Cole acknowledged roughly and cooled his statures and added, "You're more like you mother."
"What happened, all I can remember was that I had been in the dimensions, how did I get here?"
The ninja told Trish what had happened. The dimension blew up and everything that was in it had been transported to Ninjago somehow. The ninja thought it to be because Dr. Borg had controlled the dimension for so long and when he was destroyed, the dimension just collapsed. The cyborgs had surrendered and were put in prison. The city was back to normal as if the attack had never happened. The houses and buildings that had been destroyed by bombs had somehow rebuilt themselves back to normal. It was a mystery on how it happened.
"After we heard the explosion, everything turned back to normal, and when we found you in the Square you were already unconscious. Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane were all unharmed like the rest of the Ninjago and were found scattered all over city." Lloyd said, "When I was younger I was able to warm-up on my washing skills, so I was able to get the stains out of your robe." Lloyd held up the purple robe and laid it on the bed. "We'll be out in the waiting room." The group left Trish in the hospital room to change.
Trish later came into the waiting room wearing her ninja elemental robe. The group all headed out towards the city where they observed the people at work. Since everything was back to normal, the citizens of Ninjago City went back to their jobs. Nothing had changed since the attack on the city. The only thing that did not go back to the way it was, were the memories that the people of Ninjago would hold forever. The legacy of the purple ninja would last forever in the hearts and stories of others.
"It's good to see everyoneback to normal again," Trish's few words stung the ninja as they knew where her hurt lay.
"Follow us." The ninja and Lloyd beckoned Trish to follow them as Nya smiled for her to follow.
Sensei Wu, Garmadon, Misako, and Nya stayed behind watching the heart-broken hero, "She's going to have a difficult time recovering with her new hand," Misako gripped Garmadon's arm as she gazed at the group.
"That will heal like all other wounds, but the wound of fatherless love will be harder to mend," Sensei Wu stared at the distant figure of the ninja.
"She'll have the help of them all," Nya glanced at the shadowed figures of the six ninja.
The ninja took Trish underground where the worst of the worst criminals were kept even though no one inhabited the cells except the farthest one from the entrance. They beckoned Trish to enter the habited cell. She peered at the motionless figure sitting on the thin mattress with a white mechanical leg and arm. The arm and leg were to replace the ones that were missing and could only be activated by a certain code on the cell door to make sure that the criminal did not move.
"I see that you do have more of your mother in you than I expected. Visiting criminals like me isn't the thing that I would do after becoming a hero," Dr. Borg kept his head towards the ground as he seemed to be examining the white leg that he now obtained.
"Hey, you should be thankful that she didn't kill you, you ungrateful flea-bag," Kai barked but Trish held him back.
"I have taken away your mechanical leg and arm, and I would do it again if I had to, but I will not take a life needlessly if I can help it," Trish paused as she evaded her eyes from her father. "I can't bring my mother back but I've given you a chance to live and think your life over. Your life caused me everything I could've had—" Trish paused, "but because of what you did, it has made me who I am," Trish paused again only momentarily, creating a suspense for the ninja to bare, "But with all you've done, I still forgive you." Trish stormed out of the cell with the others behind her as they slammed the cell door shut.
When Dr. Borg heard the lift tube that would bring the ninja back up to the surface, he whispered into the dark, "Thank you for believing in me. I will change for you. I promise." A tear that had never fallen down his face in ages finally fell and he joyfully let it come. Even though Ninjago may never let him see daylight again, at least he knew that his daughter would still care for him.
Back on the surface the ninja walked back to Lloyd's home. "I can't believe you forgave him, after what he's done, I would let him rot down there," Jay remarked.
"He knows what he did was wrong, and I think he'll have a change of heart once he sets his mind to it," Trish gazed into the distance. "Sometimes forgiveness is the only way to mend broken hearts and make amends."
"I wonder what we'll end up doing next." Cole tried to envision himself in a few months.
"All I know is that we'll all be together, tackling our next mission," Lloyd and the others strolled on, waiting for the new tomorrow that would come as the sun rose again.
