Jungkook's POV
'Jungkook, the Power is calling you.'
I looked up from my book, finding one of the Power's assistants at my door. I know the Power is such a stupid name, it wasn't my idea and I definitely didn't want to call anyone that. But that's what I'm supposed to be calling him, and that's what I have to call him.
So you all are probably really confused right now. Who is the Power? Why does he have assistants? Blah blah blah. I'll be explaining it all right now.
So basically, when you die in a specific way, and this specific way just happens to be when a ghost kills you.
Okay so when a ghost kills you, you become a ghost yourself. But things are a lot more complicated than that. A ghosts job is to scare people, kill them, gather more ghosts, because the Power is trying to build a ghost kingdom.
The Power is the ghost king. He's the one that came up with all the stupid ghost stuff. It's quite fascinating, and it's interesting how he was able to come up with all these plans yet not get a better name than 'the Power'. Nobody knows his past, how he became like this, but they all know better than to ask him about it. Everyone just obeys what he says.
When you die, you are brought to the Power and his bunch of assistants where they all judge you and whether you're worthy to be a ghost or whatever. It's stupid.
If you don't become a ghost, you have two choices. One is to go back to earth. This may sound cool, but trust me when I say that you won't want to pick this one. When you go back to earth after being killed by a ghost, you're still a ghost except you're not in the ghost kingdom.
So life a ghost that's free to roam around earth and do what you want without being seen by humans or other ghosts on earth. So you're just lonely for life.
That's why most people would choose the second option; you go to heaven. This seems really pointless because why would the Power send you to heaven when he's just trying to build his own kingdom? Well I guess people in heaven are too nice to be here. I guess the ghost kingdom is a really terrible place then.
Anyways, if you don't go to heaven or be ab earth ghost, you become a part of the ghost kingdom where you have a job. The only job that everyone has (excluding the Power's assistants) is to scare people. You're assigned a person to scare and kill so that they can be in the ghost kingdom too. Yay.
I don't know if you can tell, but I'm really not enthusiastic about this whole kingdom thing. I think it's stupid.
I was dumb enough to get scared by a ghost to the point where I died. I was also dumb enough to be bad on earth so I couldn't go to heaven. Basically I'm really dumb.
I strongly dislike everything about this place. The thing I hate the most is my job. I hate scaring and killing people, it just isn't right.
When I was first introduced to this place, I thought it was really cool and actually took pride in my job. I made the effort to scare people (although I only killed two people during the course of seven years). But as I got more experienced, learned new things, I slowly came to realize how disgusting my actions were and how terrible of a person I was.
I had asked for a break, which took a lot of courage, because nobody goes against the Power's rules. Somehow I had gathered the courage for it, and since he liked my determination to kill people (which doesn't change the fact that I'm bad at it) so he agreed to give me a 2 week break.
I spent those two weeks in my dorm room (yes, we have dorms. I share with a pretty chill guy and he's fine with my opinion on this ghost stuff. he, on the other hand, likes to kill people, but we get along well) just reading books and what not. Although I did get bored a lot I definitely preferred this over killing people.
