Momo'S POV

I arrived home and placed all the plastic bags on the kitchen counter. My tummy was now growling really loudly and I was really craving something. Anything.

I rummaged through the bags and pulled out the chips I had bought. I had initially not wanted to get any chips but for some reason I needed to get these. I'm really glad I did, though, because I was really hungry.

Just as I was about to open the pack the chips suddenly flew out of my grip and rested on the other side of the table. I frowned. That was weird.

Trying not to think about what had just happened, I reached over for the chips. If I were to think about the situation, I'm sure I'd start coming up with something that'd scare myself.

However, as I reached over, the bag of chips fell off the table. Before I even touched it.

Yeah, I regret living in this house.

I tried not to let this little act phase me. To take my mind off it, I decided to settle for something else I had bought: Jokbal. My appetite for chips suddenly distinguished as I fumbled with the plastic bag, in a hurry to pull out my food. My stomach felt like it was starting to eat away at itself with nothing else to digest, so I wasted no time in opening the box.

I was so desperate to eat that I took a bite before even sitting down. I indulged in the flavor, my eyes shut tight and my mind drifting off... into a world of Jokbal.

Jungkook's POV

After finally being able to retrieve my bag of chips, I quickly ran upstairs with it before she could see some random chips floating around her house. The thing is, what I did was a huge risk that could've gotten me caught; luckily, she didn't seem to mind. This was the first time I had done something like this: my hunger overpowering my determination to the point that I was willing to take a risk so I could eat. What was wrong with me?

I was in her room. Being careful not to make any loud noises, I opened the plastic bag and an aroma of potato chips lingered into my nostrils. I let the smell sink in before finally eating the chips.

Knowing the living room was right beneath me, I poked my head through the floor and out the ceiling downstairs. I could see Momo with her eyes shut, chewing a piece of Jokbal. This girl really loves her food.

Realizing I was probably getting a bit too distracted, I came back to my senses and remembered that I needed to somehow scare this girl, which, at the moment, seemed kind of impossible since she doesn't seem to be scared of anything.

Glancing around, something caught my eye. A chandelier hung from the ceiling a few meters to my left. With a set plan in mind, I hovered over to the item.

A bunch of dust acted as a blanket on the chandelier, coating everything it could possible touch. However, this wasn't enough to hide the beauty of the antique. I was surprised they left this here - with its gold base and diamonds as decorations, it obviously had a high value.

Hey, maybe my trick will also get her a bit of money? I pushed the chandelier a bit, cautious of putting in too much pressure as it might just fall. Luckily, I didn't, and it creaked slightly as it swung from side to side.

Momo paused. Her jaw stopped moving, yet her eyes were still shut. She craned her neck to the left and a bit upwards, facing the moving I next before finally opening her eyes. And she looked terrified.

I cracked up, my head still poking through the ceiling. All of a sudden, she screamed. I immediately stopped laughing and looked straight at her, startled to find that she was looking straight at me, eyes wide and lips quivering.

Wait, why is she looking straight at me? Can she see me? It's either she's coincidentally staring right at the ceiling where my head happened to be, or she could see me. I swiftly slipped my head back, heart racing fast.

Did I forget to turn invisible? I could still clearly see her face in my head: the colour drained out of her face, her eyes so wide it seemed it they were about to pop out. Judging from her expression, she definitely saw me.

I prayed no one from my community had seen that moment - because if anyone had, I'd definitely be kicked out.

Momo's POV

The chandelier was swinging. I was frozen in place. There was no wind.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure shift. I glanced slightly to the right of the chandelier, and what I saw made my soul leave my body. I screamed.

Staring right at me, a head was hanging from the ceiling. A head. I was paralyzed, incapable of doing anything. I was never told of any heads when moving here.

The head stared back at me with the same expression, but, for some reason, my fear slightly decreased. As I analyzed the face, my interest overpowered my fear.

The head - a boy - appeared to be young, around my own age. His mouth was shaped into an O but it was slightly pouty, and his shocked eyes looked..kinda..cute.

Wait, what am I thinking? I mean, I'm staring at a ghost! I should be scared! Well, I am, but..why am I kind of intrigued? Before I knew it, I was no longer on the couch, but instead, making my way to the staircase.

I could feel my heart beating in my chest, going at an inhumane speed. Countless thoughts wandered through my head, a number of horrifying outcomes. Yeah, I was scared out of my mind, but for some reason, my legs kept moving themselves.

I took light steps, tip toes, careful as to not make a single sound. I scanned each wooden step, looking for a spot that wouldn't produce a creak before pressing the skin of my toes against the dusty surface.

I creeped closer and closer to the top, my curiosity getting the best of me. My thoughts raced through my mind, telling me to take the logical way out, to leave the house, that it was dangerous. But my conscience was telling me to go up, to see the boy.

And then I heard a snicker.

wowie how long has it been idk but I'm sorry for being so slow 🥺🥺
