Momo's POV

I stood at the base of the doorstep, looking up at the building that loomed above me. It was surprisingly huge despite it's cheap price.

A cold breeze rushed past me as I stood there, unable to move. My parents had sent me here, to Korea, to study and make new friends. Although I knew my mom just wanted to distract me from our problems at home.

I opened the map on my phone, making sure I was at the right place. Even though the house seemed very beautiful, something didn't feel quite right.

I didn't have any say in the choice of house. My parents had simply went online and looked for a place to stay that was big yet affordable.

Unfortunately, I was at the right place. I glanced right to left, looking for other people, but the area was as deserted as the house. My phone felt heavy in my hands. I put it in my pocket instead.

I only had one suitcase with me, and it wasn't even that big. I carried it up the uneven wooden steps with ease, making sure I didn't accidentally break one.

The house seemed like one you'd find in a horror movie, and I had a slight fear that my life would become one. There were windows on either side of the double doors. I would've looked inside of them but I was afraid a face would suddenly pop out of nowhere. Yeah, I'm a big coward.

I had received a key from the person selling the house, and he willingly gave it to me, thanking me for buying it. That man gave me more thanks than I've ever received in my life.

Even the key was creepy. It was like a dollhouse key, golden and rusty, as if it had been around for hundreds of years. Hesitantly, I inserted it into the lock, which took more effort than expected, because the lock was rusty as well.

I twisted the key and the door unlocked. For a few seconds I just stood there with my hand resting on the doorknob, wanting to just leave and return to Japan; living on the streets suddenly felt like a better choice than living in here.

However, I knew better than to do that, so I twisted the doorknob and let the door swing open.

Everything was dark. Well, obviously, I hadn't turned the lights on yet. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a long hallway with multiple doors on each side, each leading to different destinations.

I definitely felt like I was in a horror movie.

To my surprise, there was a key rack on the wall beside the door. I placed my key on there, staying for a few seconds just to make sure it wouldn't suddenly fall with the foreign weight.

Once I decided everything was safe, I walked forward, going at a much slower pace than I normally would. The first opening was to my right.

I peeked in. It was the living room. What surprised me was that all furniture was placed already - maybe the person who last lived here decided to leave it? Although it wasn't really my taste, it was more of the old looking style that you'd find in castles and stuff.

I sat down on the couch which was situated in front of a fire place. It felt more like I was in England rather than Korea.

I took my backpack off my back and pulled out my book. Making myself comfortable, I laid back and read.

Most people would explore the house first, get to know what's in it and everything, but I found comfort in reading. It makes me feel safe, therefore I always read whenever I'm uncomfortable or scared, and I just happened to be both of those at the moment.

Suddenly, a plastic bird figure fell off the fireplace. This of course made me scared, because I'm a coward as I said earlier. I decided to ignore it and convince myself it was the wind, but the more I tried to do that the more I thought about it.

I was starting to get really distracted from my book. There was no wind in the house. All doors and windows were closed. I couldn't even feel any breeze.

I was starting to freak myself out. I stood up and cautiously walked toward the specimen on the floor, attempting to not make any noise as I had this weird fear that something would hear me and come for me.

I crouched down in front of the bird, inspecting it, not wanting to touch it. It was just a plastic bird toy, why am I so scared?

Jungkook's POV

I sat atop the fireplace, looking down at the girl I was assigned. She stared at the bird I had tipped over, fear evident in her eyes. I felt bad but I also had the urge to laugh as she looked so confused.

I slid off the fireplace and made my way to the couch where her book lay. I see she's also a bookworm. I really wanted to pick the book up and get a proper look at it, but the girl just entered the house for gods' sake, i don't wanna chase her out.

I did wonder why she didn't look around the house though. She just came in, sat down and read. Relatable.

She really catches my attention compared to the other people I've met. Maybe I'll spend more time on this mission.
