Ace cursed under her breath, recognizing the voice with a feeling of utmost disgust entering her body. Turning around, she found Greedo, a small, slimy green alien with a long, trunk nose, jabbing his blaster into Han's sides while he glared up at her. He spoke in a foreign tongue, only Ace easily understood it, having once known Greedo extremely well.
"Yes, Greedo." Said Han, his voice laced with a fake kindness. "As a matter of fact, we were just going to see your boss. Tell Jabba we've got his money."
"It's too late. You should have paid him when you had the chance. Jabba's put a price on your heads, so large that every bounty hunter in the galaxy will be looking for you. I'm lucky I found you first."
"We have the money now, Greedo." Ace told him, too annoyed to fake politeness.
"If you give it to me, I might forget that I saw you." Countered the alien, aiming his blaster at her momentarily.
Han slid into a small, spindly silver chair, Ace seating herself into the one beside it. Meanwhile Greedo sat across from them, his blaster slowly moving back and forth between the two of them; he was waiting for one of them to move first.
"We don't have it now." Said Han impatiently. "Tell Jabba-"
"Jabba's through with the both of you." Continued Greedo. "He has no time for smugglers who drop their shipments at the first sign of an Imperial Cruiser."
"Even I get boarded sometimes!" Han responded. "Do you really think I had a choice?" Out of the corner of her eye, Ace watched as Han's hand twitched towards his blaster and she grinned; she had been thinking the same thing, her fingers already resting delicately on the trigger of her own.
"You can tell that to Jabba." Said Greedo coldly. "Maybe he'll only take your ship; throw Ace in there and you've got a deal. One of his other... shutta slaves recently was involved in an incident, he could use a new one."
"Over my dead body." Retorted Han angrily.
"That's the idea." Greedo said, not even skipping a beat. "I've been looking forward to killing you for a long time now."
"Yes, I'll bet you have." Said Han.
BANG
Once again, the loud noise of a blaster shot had all the hubbub in the cantina coming to a momentary halt. Greedo disappeared in a flash of light and smoke, the sound of his body slumping to the floor echoing loudly as Han pulled his blaster out from under the table, smoke pouring from its tip. Standing up, he blew it away with ease, Ace quickly scrambling after him as she tucked her blaster into her belt.
"Should've let me have him." Ace told Han as she followed him through the crowd. "I've always hated Greedo."
"Should've been quicker then." Han responded to her before throwing a large sack of coins onto the counter that the bartender stood behind. "Sorry about the mess." Han told him. "Hurry up," he added to Ace as they left the cantina, back into the open streets of Mos Eisley, "I wanna get off this planet before Jabba finds us."
"At least I'll get to shoot something." Muttered Ace rather ungratefully, Han shooting her a look. "What?" She asked as she hurried to keep up with his long strides. "A girls gotta shoot something!"
