The moon of Endor was hot and humid, especially in the jungle and forest regions. Her dress long gone, Ace had ditched it for a more incognito and militaristic outfit of neutral tans, grays, and camouflage. Trekking along an enormous ridge with Han, Leia, Chewie, the droids, Wicket and another Ewok named Paploo, Ace couldn't help but curse with every step. Her legs ached, a blister had formed from the boots she was wearing, her hair was sticking up in every direction due to the humidity, and, to be frank, she was hurt beyond belief.
It was one thing for Luke to not like Ace anymore, it was hard to accept for her after everything she had been through with him, but it was something she could learn to accept. But for Luke to have fallen in love with Leia, for him to be kissing the girl that Ace considered one of her closest friends, for him to be kissing Han's girl-well, that was far too much for Ace to wrap her head around.
And it felt really, really awful.
"Chin up, Ace." Said Han as the Imperial Base came into view, "We've made it."
From the tone in his voice, Ace could tell Han was hurting too. Neither of the siblings had spoken on the issue yet, but both knew what the other was thinking. They needed to pull out of the situation before things got messy, they needed to leave Leia and Luke to their own devices before either of the Solo's were far too invested.
Although, Ace knew that it was too late for that. Both she and Han were going to have their hearts broken no matter what and there was nothing they could do about it.
"Finally." Grumbled Ace, trying to push away her feelings. "I've had enough of roaming the forests like some sort of damned pioneer, I wasn't made for all this incognito crap. I just wanna shoot something."
"The main entrance to the control bunker's on the far side of the landing platform," said Leia, approaching the two siblings as she scrutinized the instillation of the Imperial landing platform that was at the base of the Imperial generator. "This isn't going to be easy."
"Hey, don't worry," Han told her comfortingly, detecting the worry in her voice. "Me, Chewie, and Ace got into a lot of places more heavily guarded than this."
"Yeah," mumbled Ace, looking away from Leia as her arms crossed; she couldn't stop herself from being angry at Leia, even if it wasn't her fault.
Glancing away from Ace, noticeably confused, Leia's attention turned to Paploo and Wicket as they discussed something in the Ewok language. "What's he saying?" The princess asked, jerking her head towards them.
"He says there's a secret entrance on the other side of this ridge." Threepio told her.

On their hike over the ridge, Han and Ace stayed near each other, speaking in hushed whispers of what to do over the Leia and Luke situation. Leia had offered no explanation between what had happened between her and Luke that night, ignoring the subject all together while Han and Ace quietly debated on what to do.
In Ace's opinion, with Luke's behavior towards her of late, and with Leia's reluctance to say what happened between what happened between her and the last hope could only mean one thing, and Han was starting to agree with his sister.
"Back door, huh?" Han commented, a hand on his hip as he surveyed the back of the generator bunker. "Good idea."
Hidden through the wild undergrowth was the squad of rebels, overlooking the back of it. The humidity had only gotten worse, frizzing Ace's hair up even more than usual. Four Imperial guards, their speeder bikes parked right outside the door, guarded the entrance to the bunker with great care.
