"I cannot believe that just happened." Huffed out Ace as she scrambled after Han and Chewie, Threepio and Artoo with them as they all headed for the Command Center, "Honestly."
"Leia was only doing it to make me mad." Said Han.
"Yes, well, I know Leia doesn't like Luke, not like that anyways." Responded Ace, pulling at her hair braided hair slightly, "But Luke..." she trailed off, knowing Han and Chewie instantly understood what she was implying, "I'm not wasting my time with him anymore anyways." She finished, crossing her arms, angry beyond belief with herself and angry beyond belief with Leia.
But as fury bubbled up at Leia, guilt seeped through Ace's body. It wasn't Leia's fault Luke was hopelessly in love with her, she had only just barely pecked the boy to infuriate Han beyond belief (not that it had even worked, Han's ego bounced back instantly), but it had given Luke something Ace now knew she would never be able to reciprocate.
After all, she may have been the Ace Solo, but in the end, she was just Ace Solo. And that was where her faults began and ended.
"You just have to catch his attention again." Stated Han confidently, "He'll turn around eventually. I mean, you are a crazy frizz, but, at the end of the day, you're his crazy frizz. Soon he'll realize he's chasing after the wrong girl, you've just got to give it time."
"Well, I'm tired of waiting." Said Ace in irritation. "It's been a whole year on this stupid planet and all we've done is drunk hot chocolate together and have snow ball fights."
"Patience, young Ace, patience." Hummed Han, pushing open the door and leading them into the Command Center.
"Princess, we have a visitor." Announced General Rieekan, leaving over a console.
Instantly the small group made a b-line straight for him, Princess Leia hurrying after them. They all crowded around General Rieekan.
"We've picked up something outside the base in zone twelve, moving east."
"It's metal." Piped up a Senior Controller.
"Then it couldn't be one of those creatures that attacked Luke." Leia said, sounding much more calm and serious now that she wasn't arguing with Han and instead back in her element.
"It could be a speeder, one of ours." Offered Han.
"But we haven't got any speeders out there; I️'m the last one who went out on one, and all of them are accounted for." Ace pointed out, peering at the screen and trying to figure out what it could be.
"No." Said the Senior Controller said suddenly, "Wait-there's something very weak coming through."
"Sir, I️ am fluent in six million forms of communication." Threepio began, stepping closer to the screen and listening intently. "This signal is not used by the Alliance. It could be an Imperial Code."
The transmission ended in static.
"It isn't friendly, whatever it is." Decided Han, "Come on, Ace, Chewie; let's check it out."
"Outside again?" Whined Ace, "But it's cold outside!"

Despite her continuous complaining of the snow, ice, and general freezing nature of the outdoors of Hoth, Ace found herself surrounded by snow once again. With shield goggles covering about half her face, her fur lined hood pulled over her head, Ace was stumbling around in the snow. Grumbling grievances under her breath, Ace fanned out from Han and Chewie as they all ducked behind snowbanks, watching the strange, metal contraption which had appeared on Hoth.
