"You look beautiful, Samantha." He compliments me at a red light. In return, I blush and work out a few words to say.
"Thank you, sir." It becomes quiet again after that so I think of a question. "Do you ever go back to Texas to visit your family?"
"Yeah actually. On the Holidays. I'm a big mama's boy." He smiles.
"Yeah me too. I love my mom. My dad isn't in my life so I appreciate my mom a lot for sticking around." I explain.
"I'm very sorry."
"Oh, no it's okay. He left when my little sister was born. So I knew him, wasn't much about him to be sad over when he walked out." I hear him clear his throat and so I look at him.
"When I was your age, my dad was still in my life. Not a sad story. My parents got divorced and eventually he remarried and lives near my mom still for us but he has another family."
"How's that?" I ask wanting to hear more about his life.
"It's a little weird at family reunions." He laughs and it makes me smile until I'm laughing along with him.
"Yeah, I bet."
"Do you ever miss your dad?" He asks, turning the conversation serious again.
"Um, not very often. Every now and then something will remind me about some of the good times we had together, but it doesn't happen much anymore." I pause. "At least I don't have daddy issues." At that I laugh again and he just chuckles. He pulls into a parking lot outside of a light wooden building with tinted glass windows. Inside the long windows I can see a bunch of wooden tables that match the color of the building.
He helps me out of the car and closes the car door. I absentmindedly pulled at my dress, pulling it down to cover the little skin that it could. He put his hand on the small of my back and led me into the building.
As people look at us enter, I find myself biting my lip and playing with my wallet in front of me. I felt his hot breath fan against my ear.
"Stop fidgeting, princess. You look gorgeous." He whispered softly into my ear.
I forced myself to stand tall and move my hands to my side. "Just you two?" A waiter asked us and Mr.Porter nodded. "Do you have a reservation, sir?"
"Yes, under the name of Dean Porter." He said looking the waiter in his eyes, not smiling.
"Ah yes, right this way Mr. and Mrs.Porter." I felt my cheeks heat up with blush. He grabbed two menus and led us through the tables of people and then out of a set of glass doors. Outside was a patio with lights strung across wooden pillars. On the tables were two candles that sat in the center of the table. It was all so beautiful and I stared at Mr.Porter in disbelief.
"What is it, doll?" I just shook my head. We stopped at a table and he pulled a chair out for me and when I sat down he pushed it back in.
"May I take your drink orders?" I opened my mouth to speak but he stopped me by speaking.
"A bottle of Merlot, please."
"Of course." The waiter nods and walks away.
"Merlot?" I ask curious.
"Wine." He smiles at me.
"Um." I learn over the table towards him. "I can't drink."
"Come on you're a teenager. I wasn't born yesterday." I raise an eyebrow. "Do you drink?" He asks me and I shake my head. "Do not lie to me princess." I blush and sit back down and nod. "Tsk. You broke a rule already pretty." I felt my heart drop in my chest with fear and excitement. I wanted to see how he would punish me for it. He just smirked and picked up his menu and I just stared at him. He looked at me, lifting his gaze just above his menu. "Oh, don't worry my little one. You'll get your punishments later, just look for what you want." Little one. That made me feel all bubbly inside.
