Amber leaves for school really early, without me. I told her I didn't feel well enough to go and it was true. My stomach felt like it was churning and my head was pounding. I would have a lot of work to make up and I was not looking forward to that, at all. I wonder if Mr.Porter would be mad at me for missing so many days of school. Probably not, because I'm so sick. My mom said it was okay for me to stay home one more day, but that I would have to go to school Tuesday.

I woke up my little siblings and told them to get ready for school. Little Sarah got up first and ran into the restroom. I walked into the kitchen to make me a bowl of Cookie Crisp when I remembered that me and Amber ate it all last night. I settle for Frosted Flakes instead. It was my second favorite cereal, Cookie Crisp was just a little bit better. It made for a perfect breakfast and an even better snack.

Thomas and Sarah soon joined me for a bowl. Sarah asked me to cut up some strawberries and put it in her cereal.

"For a kiss, of course." I smiled, Sarah giggled and pulled me to her and quickly pecked my cheek. "Thank you! Strawberries coming your way." I tickled her stomach and she jerked away from my touch, laughing even more. I looked over to Thomas. "Do you want any?" He shook his head quietly and began to eat his bowl.

I grabbed the container of strawberries that was in the refrigerator and cut up 3 of them. I dropped them into her bowl and gave it back to her. "Thank you, Sammy!" She squealed and placed a spoonful into her mouth. "Mmmm." She sighed. Mom came in and she kissed all of our of our foreheads.

"Good morning, my loves. I hope you all slept well." She paused at me and placed the back of her hand against my forehead. Her hand felt cold against my heated skin. "You have a fever. Go back to bed." I followed her instructions and went back to my really comfortable bed. Just a little secret, I totally loved my bed more than I loved Amber.

I am so tired of being sick. I just wanna go back to school, being home sick is so boring. I'd go to school today, and that was it. I took a really quick shower and let my hair air dry. I threw on some Adidas joggers and a white Adidas shirt. I finished the outfit off with some Adidas shoes. I pulled my hair up into a messy bun and grabbed my phone before running down the stairs. I caught my mom just as she was walking out of the door. She looked at me confused.

"I'm so bored, mom. I'm gonna go to school. Just give me a sec to take some medicine and get my backpack?" My mom hesitated and then finally nodded and closed the door behind her. I ran into the kitchen and looked through the medicine cabinet before finding medicine meant to help with fevers.

I got to school and was met by Amber and Chad. Chad looked at me and made a weird face before speaking. "Yikes, you look terrible." Amber elbows him and smiles at me.

"How are you feeling? I thought you weren't coming today?" She asks rubbing the top half of my arm.

"I know, but I'm bored at home, so." I explain to her with a shrug.

"Oh okay. Well, I'm gonna walk you to homeroom. Have you and Eric talked?" I shake my head in response.

"Not really, but I'm pretty sure that's about to change." I think about all the ways that conversation can go down. It can just be a friendly talk about how I'm feeling, or about when we can go out on that date, or maybe he already suspects something is off with me. But whatever it is, I hope it goes okay. And I really hope it has nothing to do with Mr.Porter because I would not know what to say. 'Oh yeah. He's my daddy and I hope you're okay with that.' I can't say that.

The bell rings and we set off to go to our homerooms. We drop Chad off first and then Amber walks me.

We walk in silence, which wasn't normal for us but it wasn't uncomfortable. When we got to my door she peeked in and then turned to me. She looked into my eyes and took a deep breath and then dropped her shoulders as she let it out.
