Reid opens the passenger door to his red mustang convertible (his parents are successful lawyers) and motions for me to get in. I do.

He closes the door and walks around to the driver's side and gets in. He starts the car and drives down the street.

"So," I say, "where are we going for dinner?"

He smiles and takes his eyes off the road for a second to look at me. Then they are back on the road.

"Its a secret." He laughs.

"Well."I say in a dramatic/sarcastic voice and look out the window.

"Wow, you didn't tell me you are so dramatic."I try not to smile.

But I am extremely unsuccessful, because I burst out laughing like a hyena.

The whole ride to the restaurant, Reid and I make each other laugh like I have never laughed before.

I have never had this much fun.

The restaurant that we are at is called 'Le Frontier'. All the walls are black, including the carpet and ceiling. We sit at a two-person booth. The seating is genuine black leather. The table is mahogany, lit by a berry-scented candle.

"You know," I say, "you didn't have to take me to this fancy of a restaurant"

Reid chuckles. "Yes, I did. I had to because you deserve it. "

I think I'm blushing.

"Well, thank you." I reply. "But, why do I deserve it? I'm just... me"

He grabs my hand across the table. "You deserve it because you are you."

I am definitely blushing now.

The waitress comes over and takes our orders.

"So," Reid begins, "how did you get into playing the cello?"

"Oh, I can't even remember. Umm... I think it was when this band performed at my school and I saw the biggest string instrument and thinking, I have to play that! Then my parents bought me one and I have been playing it ever since." I start laughing and Reid smiles.

"And how did you get into the guitar?" I ask him.

"Well, my story is way less interesting than yours." he chuckles. "But, I was playing guitar hero and wanted to learn how to play the actual guitar."

We continue to laugh.

The theatre's seating rows are packed with people. We take our seats next to this old couple.

The lights start to dim all around us.

"We arrived in just enough time!" I tell Reid. He turns his head to me and smiles.

His turquoise eyes and his shiny brown hair are hypnotizing me.

I jerk my head to look at the orchestra before he noticed that I was falling for him- already.

He is such a gentleman, handsome and nice. I am 17 and he may possibly be the first person I could ever open up to, other than Chelsea.

We have this special bond that I never thought I could have with someone.

After the show, Reid and I get in his car again.

"Thank you," is all I manage to say before he gently grabs my hand again.

"No, thank you," He says. "For letting me meet you in person. " I smile.

The next day, I decide to call Reid and ask if he wanted to hang out after school. He said to meet at the park down the road from my house.

When I arrive at the park at about three thirty, Reid is nowhere to be found!

Wow, I thought. Where could he be? I can't believe that he wouldn't show up after taking me to dinner!

"Boo!" A man's voice yells to make me jump.

"Oh my god! Don't do that!" I yell back, over Reid's laughter.

"Okay!" But he doesn't stop laughing, so I shove him. I'm not strong at all so he doesn't move a muscle.

He laughs even harder at my inability to push him. I can't help but smiling a little, too.

"Oh c'mon! You have to admit, that was pretty funny!" Reid finally speaks. I grin at his comment.

"So, what's with the bike?" I ask, pointing at his sky blue BMX.

"Well, let's see, genius... umm... I rode it here." He points out.

"Well, thank you Captain Obvious!"I say sarcastically. Reid smiles, then chuckles. "But really, like, what are you going to do with that here?"

"I haven't thought about that. I don't exactly have a bike lock, so... we could ride it around?" I shrug my shoulders.

"But how are you going to fit me on there?" He gets on his bike.

"You, are going to get on the handlebars." I look at him like he has three heads.

"Uhh... no. " I say sternly, but I get on eventually.

I sit on the high handlebars, my short legs not being able to touch the ground. Every turn we make, I feel like I'm going to fall over. But, I love the wind blowing through my long, blonde hair. I also love how Reid's hands are touching my hips when we are at a slow enough speed.

I laugh. I don't know why, but I laugh.

"What's so funny?!" asks Reid.

I still laugh uncontrollably. "I don't know! I just can't stop!"

Reid puts the bike to a halt and helps me off the handlebars. Then he laughs with me, but not the kind of sarcastic laugh that somebody would do in front of a psychopath, but a real laugh. The kind of laugh that you could only do in front of someone you trust, and love.

He loves me.

Reid decides to walk me home. It is only seven, but my parents wanted me home at seven o'clock because they were at a party until eleven and didn't want me to be out late with nobody home. My brother, Teddy, was at his friend, Jimmy's house for the night, so I was home alone.

When Reid and I arrived at my door, he said " Well, I should get going. I had a really great time with you, Jane. We should definitely do that again sometime soon." But I don't want him to go.

So I say," Or, you could stay?"
