Chapter Three-

I played back the rhythm I'd recorded on my computer for about the thousandth time today. It was the best one I'd ever recorded but I felt like it was missing something. I'd showed it to Ella and then Perry when he came in and they both were speechless. Perry wanted to take it off my hands and sell it to a pending customer right then, thinking it would set him off edge to want to record here. But, I just couldn't do it and I don't know why.

I'd been sitting here for almost two hours playing the track over and over wondering what I could add to it but nothing came to mind.

This was the only song I'd ever written with no lyrics. It felt weird but nothing I wrote felt right. Just as I was about to email the song to Perry and just be done with it Ella walked into my booth.

"Hey I just finished with another customer you wanna go grab an early dinner?" She said smiling and twirling her car keys around her finger.

I sighed and smiled.

"Yes that sounds perfect," I replied and closed the laptop, placing it next to the rest of my stuff.

I'd explained to Ella that I was gonna stay at the studio for a week or so to earn a little more money and since my apartment was so far away Perry had let me stay at the studio (which took a lot of begging, but she didn't have to know that.)

She'd given me that look I knew all too well, that meant she didn't believe me. But I ignored it.

Twisting my caramel colored hair into a messy bun and shrugging on my light blue jumper over my white tank top I rushed over to meet Ella at the car. Tripping over the untied shoelaces of my white low top converse.

"Where do you wanna eat? Paradise Bakery? Barros? P.F. Changs?" Ella asks as she pulled out of the studio's parking lot.

"Paradise sounds great," I sigh messing with the radio until "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry blasts from the speakers and Ella and I scream at the top of our lungs along with the lyrics.

"That was Katy Perry with Teenage Dream," the radio announcer says excitedly as the song ends. "Next is a new band from here in Australia. Their tour is stopping back here in Sydney next week so why not pay tribute to our fellow Aussies!? Here's Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin of 5 Seconds of Summer with She Looks So Perfect!"

The music blares and the four boys voices fill the air. But all I can think about is that name. Ashton Irwin. Where had I heard it before? Wait a second....

As the song ends, the cheerful DJ's voice fills the air again.

"These four talented boys say they plan on doing some recording while back at home. But their studio recently kicked the boys out after a fight with their manager. So they're left without a studio. Hopefully they'll find a place in time! Now here's our next song!"

As a One Republic song fills the air Ella turns the volume down.

"Wouldn't it be great if they came and recorded with us?" She laughed, teasing me.

"Ella! You're a genius!" I cry.

"What!? I was kidding, we don't even know them!" Ella yells as we pull into the parking lot of Paradise Bakery.

I smirk. "Well you might not but I happen to know Ashton Irwin."

Ella's mouth drops open.

Oh I've got a plan.
