Chapter Four

Chapter Four-

Ella and I had been sitting in a booth in the far back of Paradise Bakery for almost two hours now, discussing the whole Ashton situation.

Ash and I had known each other back in school. He was the cute popular boy that everyone loved and I was just one of those girls who hung out with her few best friends and kept herself silent unless she was with them.

Ashton had always been so nice to me. We were lab partners all 6 years in junior high and high school even though most of his friends had the class with us. And he ended up becoming one of my really good friends. I even came to one of 5 Seconds of Summer's first gigs.

Everyone always told me Ash liked me ever since he walked me to the nurse in the second grade when I fell off the monkey bars and sprained my ankle.

I never believed them though. Ash and I were just good friends; nothing else. After a high school he and I lost contact and stopped talking. I never even knew 5sos had gotten big until the radio announcer explained it in the car.

"Layla I can't believe you know Ashton Irwin!!! This could be so big for us, and Perry and of course the studio..."

"Ella!" I said interrupting her. "Yeah I know Ash but I don't have any way to contact him! No phone number, no address, I don't even know what venue he and 5sos are playing when they're in Sydney!"

"Oh... I may have forgotten about that small detail," Ella said dssapointment splattered all over her face.

As we left the bakery and started walking to the car, Ella burst into tears.

"I'm going to get kicked out of my apartment! I can't afford to live there anymore and that's why I was at the studio all last night because I need more money. I talked to Perry about getting a new job and he said to give him a month and if the studio was't back on his feet he'll lay me off so I get all the benefits," she wailed.

"Whoa whoa whoa Ella calm down!" I tried quieting her but nothing was helping.

"I love music so much, it's what drives me. But I can't handle bankruptcy anymore! I'm gonna have to move in with my parents again! Then all I'll hear is how they were right and how a 19 year old girl can't support herself. I'm such a joke..." she said breathing hard, her tears had stopped flowing and were now just trickling down her cheeks.

"Oh Ella," I said hugging her. "I have a confession to make as well," I said biting my lip nervously.

I explained the similar situation I was in, almost starting to cry myself. "That's why I'm staying at the studio for a while to work on some 'time consuming projects,' " I finished looking at Ella for any obvious emotion in her face. But she just laughed and hugged me.

"What's so funny?" I asked, confused.

"Who ever thought our futures would be in the hands of Ashton Irwin and the rest of 5sos?" Ella giggled.

I laughed too, this was all so weird!

"And they don't even know it!" I added, laughing even harder as Ella started the car and pulled out of the parking lot.

I turned on the radio again and was just about to change the channel when Ella screamed at me.

"Wait!!" she yelled and turned the radio up, the announcers voice filling Ellas little Jeep was we sped down the dark streets of Brisbane.

"Well that was 5 Seconds of Summer with 'I Miss You' " the radio DJ explained.

"5sos will be playing at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney in three days! The concert is sold out and the four aussie natives say they are so incredibly excited to have sold out at home. We know they'll give us a rocking concert! Good luck boys!" He cheered.

"Now here's Ed Sheeran with..."

Ella turned down the radio and stared at me excitedly as we stopped at a red light.

"Hordern Pavilion," she said smiling.

"Hordern Pavilion," I repeated realizing what she meant.

BINGO.
