Chapter 4- The Knights Deal

As Kai was imbued with the soul of the hell dragon, Covidien, our Golden god, welcomed Kai into the ranks of the untold Soul Knights. A league of heroes that protects the world from beings called Essers. Vile creatures that can cause major damage if not destroyed themselves. As the fire-red haired boy walked through the realm he now calls home, Covidien told him where his personal quarters is and that he would meet him there soon. He is told that, like everything else, its on a floating island but it resembles his home on earth. After some help from Ellie, he finds his humble abode. He swiftly enters the building and jumps on his couch which was a lot softer than before, and nearly falls asleep on impact.

"Kai, don't fall asleep just yet as master has something he wants to discuss with you. It is also rather important and concerns that chain around your neck. Along with a few other things." informs the little girl. 

"Is that so? The way I got it was pretty cool but I need to ask, are you a knight as well?" questions the holder of the hell dragon soul.

"Actually no, I am not. I was created a little before your arrival. I am your servant and guide, I have all the knowledge of this realm and the human realm. I answer only to you and Covidien, although you overrule him now that you have a soul." answers the girl whilst bowing to Kai.

"Oh wow, this place is really somethin' else huh? Well don't think of yourself as a servant, we can just be friends since you helped me and all that." says the boy as he stands up and pats her head. "You'll be the first one in a long time."

"I cannot allow myself to call you my "friend" as I am inferior to you. You are my master and I shall serve you to the best of my abilities." exclaims the child.

"Well, just know I am your friend okay?" he asks while smiling.

"Yes, Kai." she answers. She then sends her head to the door as she can sense better than Kai. "Covidien is coming, should I leave like before?" asks the girl.

"I'll let ya know if you should. Just come sit with me." says the boy as he pats the couch signaling her to sit, which she does.

Covidien enters the house with a not-so-happy look on his face. He swiftly changes it to his normal expression and sits across from Kai and Ellie. He is accompanied by a little boy with the same color hair and eyes as him and the young boy seems to be shy, as he was hiding behind Covidien. 

"So what is it you wanna talk about boss?" asks the boy with an almost uninterested tone.

"I am here to give you the basics of your soul and Essers. Your soul is your weapon and your weapon only, you have control over it to an extent." answers the gold man.

"To an extent?" questions Kai.

"Yes, to an extent, I will let your assistant explain it to you after I leave. I want to tell you what Essers are myself though. Essers are creatures born of evil deeds, like things you know are wrong and things that just are plain bad. The worse the act the stronger the monster. These beast can also merge if they were created through a collective act, such as the holocaust or the boys bullying kids for nothing. They are also classified by level, Lith, Meso, Neo, and Axi" explains Covidien.

"There must be a lot of Essers under that trio then..." kai says under his breath.

"They can also be created through corruption, meaning they interact with humans and other things. People can resist and escape them but its rare. People can very easily be killed by these creatures."  informs the gold child.

"What happens if someone corrupted kills another person or "interacts" with them?" asks the hero.

"They are also corrupted, sadly. If they manage to convince someone to help them in their deeds they are also corrupted, hence the reason you had to fight so many people with weird markings." explains Covidien.
