This is only the start, Lucy!!!

-At Laxus place-

Laxus sat at the edge of the bed, running his fingers through Lucy's hair. It has been only two hours that she had been sleeping. For three whole days she wouldn't sleep... more like couldn't. Every time she closed her eyes, his face flashed in front of her. Those bright gold eyes before they began to turn crimson blood laced with something else. Something she couldn't explain but was afraid. She was terrified. It's like he was under dark magic, his eyes were so dark, empty and angry. A true monster hiding behind those eyes... then that smile. Not a come on you'll love your surprise or happy birthday smile. No, this smile was different, terrifying. Sinister. Mira was outside, standing at the door. Standing guard, she trusts Erza but still can't take any chances.

"Don't worry, Lucy. I won't let him hurt you. I will protect you" Laxus whispered, as he watched over her

-2 days later-

The longer Natsu spent without Lucy, the worse he became. Today, was Mira's turn to watch over him and Erza was guarding Laxus's place. All throughout these days, Laxus stayed by her side. It was the only way to get her to sleep or even eat. So far, Levy and Freed have no luck on how to stop Natsu. There is one way but they can't ensure that Lucy will be safe. Today, they would come up with the final decision. It was mid-day, around 3 or 4 in the evening when Levy and Freed made their way to Laxus's home. While, Lucy was sleeping he went to the living room to be with Erza, Levy and Freed. Two books at hand. Levy took a deep breath before speaking.

"I'm sorry, Laxus. There is nothing that will stop Natsu from going on a rampage after her. There is one way to at least calm him down but,... I'm not so sure it will have a positive outcome"

"So, what's that one option you are talking about?" he asked

"Well, I don't think you will want to know..."

He looked over at Freed who nodded as if to answer. Giving him the answer to exactly what Laxus was thinking?

"NO!! NO, NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!! I AM NOT SENDING HER IN WITH THAT MONSTER!!" he shouted

"I know, which is why we didn't suggest it. But if you want her safe... she needs to be far, far, away from here, Laxus. With each passing day he gets stronger. We had a close call last night even with Mira and Master together"

"I don't care, I'm not risking the life of my mate, the woman I love with that fire breathing dragon. I will protect her no matter what. If I have to take her away from here... then I will do it"

"Laxus, I know you want her safety more than anything" Erza said, "But there is more..." she nodded at Freed

"If we can't control Natsu within a week. She is as good as gone"

"What do you mean??!!" he growled

"In a week tops, the blood moon will appear. If we can't subside or keep him under lock, Lucy's life is in danger. The blood moon is the night he is waiting for... once it's blood moon night, once he makes her his, there is no going back. Not even the most powerful dragon can remove his mark. She will die if he marks her on the night of the blood moon. No one has ever survived through a night being a dragon mate, especially if he is after her blood. Nothing will stop him"

Laxus didn't know what to say. He couldn't believe a single thing that he was hearing at all. It doesn't matter how powerful he gets, he won't stop till he knows Lucy is safe. That's for sure. Looks like he really has to find a way to get her away from Fiore and as soon as possible.

"I understand... I will take her far away from he-"

"No!" he was cut off, they all turned to see Lucy, "No, I won't keep running away. I'm done running. There is no way I'm leaving my home. Or my family to fight off Natsu because of me. My whole Iife I was hiding behind someone as protection as an act, but, no more. I'm not a weak little girl anymore. I will face my own demons or in this case dragon slayer"
