Jessie left the earlier that day and Savannah returned back, when she did she was confused because Shawn was no where to be found until she went up to the roof and seen him passed out. A soft smile came on her face as she walked to where he was and woke him up. "Shawn," Savannah whispered, pushing him awake. He jumped to his feet making Savannah let out one of the kid laughs. "So...Jessie went home?" Savannah asked, taking the bottle that had half a bottle that was half empty.
"Yeah, I um...I broke up with her. I don't think you should be drinking that, just getting out of the hospital and all," Shawn said, putting his hand to his neck. Savannah just smiled adn took a swig of the harsh liquid.
"If you're going to be drinking, don't drink alone," Savannah told him before passing it back. "I know I said that I was done with you. But I'm still your friend," Savannah said, patting the seat next to her, he gave her a slight smile and sat next to her. He wrapped his arm around her, just to get comfortable before taking a swig of it himself.
"I thought I made the right decision, leaving you last year. To move on," Shawn whispered, playing with her hair. Savannah nodded, she wasn't going to talk, she was just going to let him talk. So she took the bottle again and tilted it down and let the liquid burn her throat. "But, I'm not sure anymore. Yes, I was with Jessie but I hurt you and when you were talking to me earlier and said you'd let me go for Jessie and Me to be happy, I felt empty and broken," Shawn told her, Savannah leaned up and looked in his eyes.
"You don't have to make a choice you know. You could just move on and forget about us," Savannah said, putting her small, cold hand on side of his face. He smiled at her.
"I don't know if that'd do any good. I wouldn't ever love them," Shawn said, Savannah seemed to search his eyes for something and found nothing but curiosity.
"You're curious on who actually owns your heart huh? Me or Jessie," Savannah said, laughing at him, he hand rest over his heart ontop of his. "We may never know because I'll never be able to go back to that girl and I'm pretty sure Jessie is waiting on you," Savannah told him, this time not lying. God knows she would look to be able to love him again like she did the summer before but after all his lies and broken promises. She wasn't sure if she would ever be able to.
"I understand that but...what if I just made the mistake of dating her because I was scared," Shawn said, looking into her eyes. Savannah opened her mouth to reply but couldn't so she replied in the only way she knew how. She gave him what he wanted, what he wanted to make a decision. She placed her lips on his, it was only meant to be a simple kiss but it turned rushed and more lustful.
They both heard a voice being cleared and they looked up to see Matthew standing there. "Um...it was a goodbye kiss?" Savannah said, trying to come up with a lie. She was usually able to come up with such lies because it was something she usually did when she was caught in a compromising position with Shawn.
"Yeah, yeah sure you were," Matthew said, a sneaky smile on his face. "Clean up and meet us in the lunch hall for supper. Um...and use a lot of scope and listerine," He said, spying the captain morgan bottle. Savannah smiled and got up walking off the roof knowing very well that Matt had questions,
Savannah had went downstairs and started a shower, pulling out her dress and shoes. She took a look at herself and didn't like what she had become. "No wonder he chose Jessie before the summer started. I mean look at me, my brown hair is dull, my brown eyes no light. I'm ugly as sin," She whispered looking into the mirror before stepping into the hot water. Her eyes closed and she stood there for a moment, just thinking,
"You just broke up with Jessie and now you're kissing Savannah? Dude! Please, we all know Savannah's going to have her heart broken. Don't make promises you can't keep," Matt said, pleading with him. "Because, maybe there's someone out there that could treat her better than you ever treated her. Wait no, there is someone out there," Matt told him and walked downstairs again.
Leaving Shawn to think, he jumped off the roof onto the belcony. He went and got ready for the supper because the day befores brunch was ruined. When he came out he was met by Savannah with her hair curled, makeup done and in a dress. The dress that she wore to the summer dance the year before. "How nice," Shawn whispered, she let out a giggle and turned away.
"We better get outside before people start asking questions like last year," Savannah said walking a head of him, her heels clicking on the hardwood flooring. Shawn stared after her and followed, it was like nothing happened between them after Jessie left.
"So...next summer is going to be better. Promise?" Shawn asked, walking down the steps after her. Savannah stopped and turned towards him, a sad look on her face. "What is it? Is there something in my teeth?"
"No, no. It's just...I may not be coming back next summer. After this year, I think I need to open up a new chapter and stop reliving old ones, because, because it's gotten me no where here," Savannah told Shawn, leaning up against the railing. She smiled at him and turned around, in Shawn's mind this was his fault.
One summer changed her mind on everything. Love, the hamptons and it made her want to move on in life. It wasn't usual for this to be sad because everything he knew about the hamptons he learned from Savannah. Yes she was a year younger than him but, she spent every summer there. "Have you made your decision?" Cameron asked, coming down from his room. It scared Shawn to hear him.
"I think I have," Shawn whispered, before running after Savannah, but once in front of everyone. There stood Bethany, Matthew, Leah, Jack J, Jack G, Aaron, Carter, Taylor, Samantha, and Meranda standing in the living room.
"Surprise buddy!" Jack yelled, while Taylor ran over and gave him a hug. Savannah laughed at the sight and turned and walked off with her girls. Probably to talk about what went down with Jessie and him. While Taylor kept spitting out questions on Savannah and his relationship at the moment.
Supper went as planed and by 1:30 everyone had fallen asleep, well alomst everyone. Savannah took out her guitar that she kept hidden well and started playing around with cords before playing the one of the new songs off of Miley Cyrus' album. Drive.
The words that struck Shawn hard were.
"I thought you would be there when I go,
you promised you would be there when I go,
But all the broken promises I won't miss,
I'm finished
All I know are the facts
That when I look you in the eyes
All I see are lies."

Well, that is the chapter for today. This was a rather difficult chapter to write because somewher along the lines I didn't want to break Jessie and Shawn up but that wouldn't be going with the plot line I had made up weeks ago!
Anyway, the outfit the right is Savannah's.
