2012...
"Savannah! You have got to be kidding me? Shawn? How, like really? He's a grade above you, he's known as the class clown and jock in the 7th grade," Samantha - Sam - Said looking at her friend, nothing but pure sympathy in her eyes. Savannah nodded, knowing very well that Sam was right.
"But he just makes me feel like I'm not some creepy 6th grader that's got a gets straight A's in everything and that I'm not talked about getting put into the 7th grade. He makes me feel normal, not what people consider the wiz kid," Savannah said, pushing her brown hair behind her ear. "But you're right, it would never happen," Savannah said, smiling and acting as if that didn't hurt because truthfully it hurt...a lot. Savannah put her box into her room, she was just moving into a new house that her parents bought with the money they had inherited from her great-grandmother. Savannah K. Fitzgerald.
"Just don't get hurt, or better. Leave him alone let him be who he is. The foolish jock that doesn't know the difference between a textbook and a jock strap," Jessie said, placing the blue bin that help her hair products and hot irons. Savannah shrugged and turned towards her room door where her older sister stood with Matt, her 'friend'.
"Tell mom I'm going out. Me and Matt had to go on that date that was so rudely interrupted by you and his friend Shawn last week," Kenna said, looking in the coldly at the three girls. Savannah nodded and covered a laugh with a cough. "Stay away from the diner tonight because if I catch one look of your brown hair, I will rip your head off," Kenna threatened and walked away.
"Oooo, so scared!" Savannah said, her voice full of sarcasm.Jessie and Samantha laughed, Savannah and Kenna were sister's. Kenna was a year older than her and always tried to be better than Savannah. It didn't take much because well...Kenna was Kenna and Savannah was a nobody. "Hold on," Savannah said as she made her way to the bleeping computer that was set on her oak desk.
"You done moving in yet?" Meranda asked, Meranda was one of Savannah's best friends who was too damn lazy to get off her ass to help move Savannah's things over to her new house and help her get settleed away. "Hey, what's, what's Sammy and Jessie doing over there?" Meranda asked, seeing Sammy's brown hair and torn up tank top; and the blonde curly hair and burgany t-shirt.
"They felt the need to help me get settled," Savannah said, her voice full of jokingness and a splash of seriousness. "Don't worry bout it though, we only have to put some stuff away and we will be finished. So please get Leah and Bethany over here!" Savannah said, excited to finally have all her friends in her new house.
"Be right over," The computer let out a 'zump' noise and the brown haired girl was gone, Savannah looked back but looked to her desk once again where her phone was beeping, letting her know she had a text. Shawn. She smiled to herself but the her friends voice shattered her happy thoughts. "No."
2013...
"Savannah, where's...Shawn get out of here! No one said you could intrude on our girls night," Bethany said, sending glares at Shawn. Savannah just smiled and shrugged her shoulders.
"I'll leave you girls to be," Shawn said, giving her a kiss on the temple that probably meant nothing to him but it meant everything to her. She smiled at him once again and turned to her friends once he was gone.
"He's not into you, I would know. I've had guys into me and that was just a brotherly kiss," Meranda said, taking a taste of her lemonade. Savannah just turned to her window and took a seat on her window seat. She wasn't up to hearing her friends complain about how she had a pointless crush on the school jock and that nothing was ever going to come of it.
"I know, and I personally don't care anymore. I'll like him if I like him," Savannah said, she was sick and tired of hearing her friends complain and was close to exploading. "What if I kept telling you that you and Cameron didn't have a chance. Or, or if I told Beth that her and Matt didn't have a chance every second I got, how would you feel?" She asked. The girls just shrugged and went back to the movie they were watching.
2014...
Savannah was just getting out of classes and she was smiling, I mean, who wouldn't it was summer, but her smile dropped when she seen Jessie's lips attached to Shawn's. She ignored her hurt feeling and walked past her like it was nothing, not a frown and not a smile. She knew she didn't have a chance from the moment she grew the crush on him. Nor would she ever have, she kept getting told that. She was always told she foolish to even think she had a shot at having Shawn to herself and once again she had to believe them.
Savannah ran up the steps of the bus and went to the middle where she usually never sat and leaned her head against the cold glass. She tried her best to surpress the tears that threated to spill. Jessie was her best friend she she knew how she felt about him, but that didn't stop her. Jessie was Jessie. The pretty one, the perfect one, the one that had it all and then there was Savannah the one who sat in the background watching her best friend take the boy that stole her heart and still refused to give it back. She was done. Done with everything. Done with her, and done with him.
