THE PREGNANCY

Niharika was shocked . Never had she in her wildest dreams thought that she could be pregnant.

She remembered that the second time they had used protection but the first time they had been so wrapped up in desire that they had forgotten to use any protection . She had been a virgin so she had never been on the pill.

Maybe Jiya was right. After all she was late for her period . She would go to the doctor first thing in the morning.

She thanked Jiya for her hospitality and asked Sagar to drop her home.

The next day she went to the doctor who confirmed that she was in the early stages of her pregnancy .

Infact since she was going. to be a single mom she vowed to love her baby and make it her utmost priority. Financially she had lots of money so she didn't need any financial help from Nikhil.

She knew that Nikhil didn't love her so she could not burden him with this news.She was not even sure what his reaction would be to this news.

After much thought and speaking withMrs Menon she decided that she would leave the country for sometime.

She called Jiya and lied to her that the doctor had confirmed it was a stomach infection and a change of scenery would suit her soshe was going out of country for a few days.She didn't tell Jiya where she was going.

She loved Nikhil so the question of aborting this baby did not arise .

Now her next step was to decide the destination which she took some time to decide but when she spoke to her mom she decided to go to London where her mom was staying.

She was packed and ready to go in a week . A night before her flight Jiya invited her for dinner and she couldn't refuse.

She presumed that Nikhil would also be invited and before going away she wanted to see him one last time.she dressed carefully in trousers and a long kurta because even though the baby was not showing Jiya was quite perceptive and she couldn't take any risk.

However when she reached Jiyas place Nikhil was nowhere to be found. It was during their conversation she came to know that Nikhil had been called to Singapore for business and would be back in a few days.

Niharika was disappointed and after taking light snacks she went home on the pretext that she had an early morning flight.

Jiya was worried for her and decided to talk to her when she came back.
