Around two months later.

November 1

Jasmine's POV

"Happy birthday baby." I yelled, jumping on top of Ant and kissing him on the forehead.

"Morning Jas." He mumbled. I ran to Ant's dresser and threw him some clothes.

"You gotta be on the bus to Steph's apartment in an fifteen minutes so come on."

"What about you?" He asked, pulling on a shirt.

"I gotta get your cake. Now hurry up." I threw Ant his wallet and jacket. "Love you." I said, pecking him in the cheek and shutting the door. I immediately called Phoebe.

"Can you make it to the party?" I asked. Phoebe happened to be our surprise guest.

"Yeah I can. Don't tell him though."

"Gotcha! Bye!"

"Bye!"

I hung up and pulled on one of Ant's sweatshirts before grabbing my purse and running out the door.

"Is the cake for Jasmine Cephas Jones ready?" I asked the teenage girl at the counter as soon as I got to the bakery.

"Yeah let me get it." She responded. The girl ran to the back and emerged carrying a big box. She handed it to me. I was about to turn around and leave when she held out a sharpie.

"Would you mind signing my shirt?" She asked.

"Not at all." I smiled while setting to cake down. I grabbed the marker and signed the back of her shirt. "There you go." She grinned and immediately ran to the back.

I picked up to box again and walked quickly to the nearest bus-stop, wanting to get to Steph's as soon as I could. The bus arrived five minutes later and I clambered on, taking a seat about halfway down, next to no one.

At the next stop, three burly men walked on. One looked straight at me and turned around to say something to the other two. They nodded and I clutched both the cake box and my purse a little tighter.

The first man sat down in the seat directly in front of me, the second directly behind, and the third across the aisle.

"Hey baby." The one in front said, turning around to face me. I stared at him nervously.

"We're headed back to my apartment. Would you like to join us?" The one behind me asked.

"No thanks." I responded, attempting to keep a steady voice. "I'm headed to my see boyfriend." I put an emphasis on the last word, hoping they'd leave me alone.

"Aww come on babe. Blow him off." The man sitting across the aisle whined.  I shook my head.

They continued to pester me for a few minutes. I would've moved but I was afraid that things might've gotten violent. Eventually another man wearing too much hair gel and a bow tie walked toward us. Afraid that he was one of their friends, I held my purse even tighter.

The man sat down right next to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I was about to shake him off when he handed me his phone with the notes app opened.

Just go with it. The note read. Well I guess I didn't have much of a choice.

"Are you guys bothering my girlfriend." The man asked, shooting a threatening glance at the three others. Finally understanding this guy's plan, I relaxed slightly.

"Umm no. Sorry bro." One of the men said. "But wait I though you said you were going to see your boyfriend."

"Well... she was but she texted me about some guys who were bothering her so I had to come see what was going on. Now leave us alone." My protecter lied smoothly. The three men shrugged in defeat and moved to the back of the bus, shooting glares at us.
