I'm Not A Myth, I'm A Legend (Ray Palmer fanfic)

1975

We flew for a bit than landed somewhere.

We were still in 1975 but in northern Norway.

Kendra and Carter thought about going back in time to save Aldus but Rip explained that we can't change events in which we participated because we could cause some kind of vortex.

But basically what we're here because we need to infiltrate some kind of an auction where terrorists, including Savage, will be buying illegal arms. 

But before we went there we changed into some clothes that people wear in this era.

We decided to get into two teams, Kendra, Carter, Jax and I will be outside in case the others on the inside need some backup.

As we waited the four of us chatted for a bit.

"So Ruby" Jax started, I looked at him"you weren't kidding when you talked about smelling my anger when I was mad at Grey ? You can really do that ?"

"Yes, I can" I answered

"How ?" He asked.

"Well it's not that I can smell the emotion, each of us has a scent, and that scent changes depending the emotion we're feeling, whether it's anger, happiness, jealousy, etc..."

"We've been reincarnating for around 4500 years and I don't think we'd ever came across your species." Carter said.

"You are truly a miracle, Ruby." Kendra added.

I blushed. These people were honest, at least I know these three are. They are the kind of people I can trust during this mission. But concerning the rest, I still want to be careful, I'm not that sure about them, yet. It's not that I don't want to have friends but I don't know, I'm still not quiet there with them.

"Hey, something's happening with them. I can feel Grey being anxious." Jax said.

I turned to Kendra and Carter.

"Guys we need to go help them. Mind if you fly Jax and I there ?" I asked them. They smiled at me and made their wings appear. Kendra grabbed me, Carter grabbed Jax and they flew us inside. Jax ran to the professor so they can merge, I landed near Sara who's being attacked by one of terrorists, I grabbed his arm before he could stab her in the chest.

"I suggest you let me finish my job, lady." He said, looking at me.

"And I suggest you back off or I will tear you to shreds." I said, making my eyes glow and my fangs show. His eyes widened and he ran far from us.

"That was badass." Sara said, smiling to me "Thanks, Ruby."

"You're welcome, Canary." I said.

We kept fighting the terrorists when suddenly, Savage activated the countdown of a nuclear bomb and ran away. Ray tried to desperately to desactivate it but he failed, so firestorm flew it far from this place, and we went back to fighting these assholes. But we had to get out anyway but they won't let us. I took a moment and saw that each of us had someone to deal with, everyone was handling the situation well, except the Atom. He was about to be put down by one of the men, it's true that I find him extremely annoying, but I can't leave my team to die. 

So I ran towards him and stood right between him and the man attacking him. He grabbed a blade and it connected with cheek, it completely healed in seconds so stared at me in total shock.

"HEEEEYYYYYYYYYY !" I screamed, getting everyone's attention and to stop fighting.

"Good. Now let me tell you few things. Either you let them go, or I will hunt you all one by one. How ? Let me show you." I said, I fully shifted and let out the loudest roar ever since I became a werewolf. All of the terrorists ran away, scared for their lives.

We all went back to the Waverider and as soon as we went in each one started blaming the other, the main room reeked of anger.

"Now you all deserve a hearty congratulations." Rip said, clapping " Not only did you fail to capture Savage, you exposed yourselves and your powers to him, giving away the element of surprise for now and all time. Well done, team."

"We don't need the element of surprise. We know he's in Norway, so let's find him..." Kendra said.

"Unfortunately, we now have larger problems than Savage. If only you'd have listened to me about the dangers of upsetting the timeline." Rip said.

Basically, while fighting, Ray lost some of his technology, so Savage's engineers developped dangerous weapons which ended leading to a massive change in history, by 2016 Central City is destroyed, also Star City, Beacon Hills and many other places.

"Good job, Ray. Now none of us has a home to go back to." I said to him, glaring.

The thought of Derek, Scott, Stiles, Allison, Lydia and all of the rest dead made me really angry. These people are the only family I have left.

So now we had some members of the team take back Ray's tech, and others to steal some dagger that would kill Savage, and who's better that two thiefs to go and steal something for us.

" Article says it was purchased by some rich Russian douche bag named Sasha Mahnovski." Snart said.

" I'll go with you." Ray exclaimed.

"I already got a partner." 

"Who I trust even less than you."

 "Look, you're more than welcome to go with them. Just don't take along any of your future tech." Rip said, then looked at me "And Ruby's going with you."

"What ?" I asked

"Yes, I need you to keep an eye on them, it's true that they're in their mid-twenties, but from what I've seen, they act like kids all the time." He responded.

We got ready and went out, Snart and Rory walked ahead of me and Ray. None of us said a word, well, except Snart and Rory who were talking about me.

"Rip sent Ray and the girl wolf with us because he doesn't trust us." Mick said.

"Yes, but think about it, Mick. The wolfie can be very helpful to us when we go back to Central City. Think about it, what she can do with her special abilities." Snart explained.

"Hey, one of my abilities is super hearing ! And forget about it, I won't help you with any your future heists." I said.

As soon as we arrived, Ray gave us one of his stupid smiles and ran to some box saying that he recognizes the security system.

I got a scent from the thiefs

"Why are you worried guys ?" I asked, looking at them.

"Because he just tapped into a dummy box, which means..." Snart started.

"There's some guards coming, I am hearing 3 heart beats getting closer to us." I continued.

"HANDS UP !" One of the guards yelled at us, the were right behind us.

Rory, Snart and I turned to them and knocked them out in a second.

"Sorry." Ray said to us.

"Yeah, you always are, Raymond." I responded, walking my way to the door.
