Well now they all know. In our little ‘truth or dare’ session last night, I told them. I like Anna. Okay, when you say it like that it sounds stupid, but it’s true. Hey, it’s going to be shipping city in our little coffee shop from now one; Leo and Kenna, Blaire and Spencer and Anna and I! That reminds me, I need to talk to Anna... Well we can walk to our shifts from college together and I’ll talk to her then...

“Hey Anna!” I call out to her as I spot her leaving her Law class.

“Sup, my main man Marcus?” she asks, running over to me.

“Nothing much really. We need to get going else you’ll be late for your shift lik you normally are...” I say, trailing off near the end so she can’t hear me.

“Shut up, Marcus!” she shouts, slapping her arm and glaring at me. Maybe she isn’t as deaf as I thought!

“Let’s go!” I whisper, grabbing her bag and dragging her along by it like a little kid.

“Hey Marcus, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!”

“Anna Banana, hakuna your tatas!”

“What makes you think I’ll do that hmm?”

“Err... I don’t know...?”

“I win! Marcus, you really are falling behind these days, pull yourself together, you’re not friggin curtains!”

“What if I am?”

“Mind blown.” she laughs.

“Old lady alert at 3 o’clock beware old lady!” Anna says suddenly as she spots one of - I’m guessing - her Grandmas friends.

“I bet she’s got lasers for pupils and plungers for hands!”

“Oh no Marcus! I think I’m going to die! Her laser eyeballs got me! Hold my hand while I die!” she says playfully, so I do as she says and slip my hand through hers.

“Old lady is approaching, prepare to run away!” I say, and she squeezes my hand even tighter.

“I think she wants to talk to us!” she says, loosening her tight grip on my hand.

“You two are so cute. I remember when me and my husband were your age! You two remind me so much of us. Thank you!” she says walking off. Anna and I shoot confused looks at each other, causing us to burst into peals of laughter.

“I can understand why you were so scared of her!” I say in-between laughs.

“Apparently we look like an old wrinkly couple - AMAZING!” she giggles.

“Ah, Anna -”

“Yes.”

“I wanted to talk to you -”

“Yes.”

“Stop saying yes!”

“I’m telling you my answer to your question so you don’t have to ask it and look like even more of a brickface!”

“Oh... So you-”

“Yes.”

“And you-”

“Yes.”

“Can I-”

“Go ahead.”

And that, my friends, is when we kiss.
