I did my best to keep quiet. I prayed no one would hear me.

But I guess I'm just not that lucky.

My foot dragged across something metal, making a scratching sound. It echoed through the building loudly.

Nothing happened.

Anyone passing by would just think this was another abandoned building but I knew that wasn't the case.

Something hid in these walls. In the rooms that were long forgotten.

The only trace it left behind was its humanoid footprints.

A loud, raspy laugh sounded from behind me. Holding in a girlish yelp, I spun around to face the being.

It appeared to be human but I knew better.

I knew what it really was.

"Zane," it spoke.

I was confused. Why of all things was it saying my name?

"ZANE! Wake up!" It's mouth was in perfect sync with the words. I blinked a few times, trying to make sure I'm seeing this right.

Zane's eyes open from his dream-state. He gazed up at his older brother with clouded eyes. A few blinks later, his vision cleared up.

"Yes?" The younger male spoke.

"Dinner," the blonde stood and crept across the room, gazing over his shoulder once he reached the doorway.

Zane stood and followed his brother, rubbing his eyes harshly.

"Come on, I made spaghetti," Garroth spoke, sounding like a mother.

"Yeah, I'm coming."
