Travis creeps out of the dark room, trying not to make a sound. He felt bad leaving Zane like that but he was planning to abide Garroth's every command in fear of his life.
Travis entered the hallway where Garroth stood with his arms crossed. He closed Zane's door softly and avoided Garroth's eyes.
"I can see you are getting close to Zane," Garroth spoke lowly, glaring hard at Travis.
"Well, yeah, we are besties after all." Travis shrugs, trying to be funny.
"He has a rough past. Please be careful with him." Garroth's glare softens before becoming nonexistent. "I don't want to see him hurt again."
"I'll keep that in mind." Travis glances back at the closed bedroom door behind him, anxious about Zane waking up. What if he freaks out because Travis wasn't there?
"I got to get back to Zane," Travis says softly after a few awkward moments.
"Oh, yeah, for sure. See you tomorrow Travis." Garroth turns and leaves. Travis goes back to Zane's room and curls up next to his bestie, ready to have a dreamless night.
Zane, however, was preparing a speech to rehearse to his brother. He can take care of himself without his older brother giving a warning to whomever he gets close to.
