The black matte Lamborghini they are riding is creepily silent like a graveyard. Krissy was seated on the front seat but she was once again lost in her thoughts. For the whole ride, her eyes were set outside the car's window.
The silence was bothering Robin but he can't do anything. He couldn't think of anything that they could talk about. He realized that he doesn't really know Krissy.
Even though he had her investigated, finally meeting her after the day he promised that he'll marry little Krissy, made him realize that there are still a lot of things that he doesn't know about her.
Unlike the other girls that he knew, Krissy's emotions and thoughts are sometimes hard to read. Like right now. Her silence and blank face is bothering him. It's giving him a hard time in figuring out how to approach her. He's afraid that she might burst out crying again.
Krissy flinched when she noticed that the road they are heading seemed familiar.
This looked like way home, she thought. Was she just imagining things? Maybe it was only because she misses her parents and their home so much that she started to imagining things.
She closed her eyes and open them abruptly and was surprised when she then realized that they are indeed heading home.
She turned to see Robin staring at here. She set her questioning eyes to his calm blue ones.
"Why?" She suddenly blurted out. She's not sure herself for what that question is pertaining to. Why is he staring at her? Or why are they heading to her parents' house? She really has no idea. It suddenly just came out of her mouth.
"I was thinking you needed this. I'm tired of seeing you cry." Robin thought that her why was about their destination.
Krissy stared at him as he averted his eyes back to the road, trying to read his mind. Trying to figure out the answers to the questions that she doesn't even know what.
Curiosity was arousing in her. Why is this arrogant man suddenly acting as if he cares about her feelings? Did she do something? Or is he going to change his mind about marrying her?
A lot of questions are still unanswered on Krissy's mind even when they arrived at her parents' house. She didn't even notice that the car has stopped running, not until Robin opened the car for her.
When she went out of the car, her parents were already waiting for them in the front door. She ran towards them as soon as she saw them and her mom welcomed her with an embrace.
"I miss you mom." Her tears fell as soon as the warmth of her mom's hug filled her.
"I miss you too baby." Her mother's voice cracked. There's no doubt that she was crying too.
Krissy's father encircled both of them in his arms. Robin can't stop his smile as he stared at them. From where he was standing, he can see the love radiating from each of them. That's why he couldn't help but wonder why did her parents dared to sell their only daughter, their own flesh and blood, to him.
If they love Krissy this much, they would have cherished her by their side. There must be a reason and he wanted to find that out.
Robin knows that he was being rude but still, he cleared his throat in the midst of their drama. Only then did they remember his presence.
"I'm sorry Mr. Frost, we just miss our daughter so much that we have forgotten your presence." Krissy's father couldn't look straight into Robin's eyes. Aside the fact that he was intimidated by his mere presence, he also felt guilty for selling his own daughter to a businessman who is much younger than him.
Krissy and her mother led the way inside the Gray's house. It was the same house in Robin's memories. Nothing much has changed in their manor. He smiled secretly. If he were to be asked, he would want the house to be as it is. He has memories in this house when he was a kid, that he would surely cherish.
Since it was already lunch time, they went straight into the dining area. The walk towards the room was a torture for Robin because he could smell the tasty aroma of the food from afar. His stomach silently grumbled inside. Though he was excited for the food, he tried his best to maintain his stern face.
Krissy couldn't maintain her excitement as she walked hand in hand with her mother into the dining area. It's good to be home. A week of being away from their house felt like years for her. Stepping inside their house somehow rejuvenated her. It felt like she was back to her old self now. She didn't even bother about Robin anymore. It was as if he was never with them in that house. She squealed in delight when the dining table welcomed them with a feast.
"Mom, you prepared a lot." Just by looking at the food in the table, made her full. God knows how she missed her mom's cooking. They were not as tasty as the food in the Frost's mansion but they were enough to feed her stomach and her soul.
"I know you miss my cooking darling." her mom inched closer to her and whispered, "and besides, I couldn't just serve simple meals to your fiancee."
Mrs. Gray's giggles made the two men look at them. Krissy looked at Robin and found that he was also looking at her. There goes his hypnotizing and electrifying eyes again. Before she could be enchanted by the young man's eyes, Krissy averted her gaze to the food.
"Mr. Frost, please have a seat. I hope you do enjoy the simple meal we serve. It may not be as grand as your chefs serve you in your mansion but my wife cooked it with all her heart."
"It's okay, Mr. Gray. This is actually too much, thank you."
Robin pulled a seat for Krissy and she instantly blushed before she could even notice it. Her mother's teasing stare made her feel more uncomfortable.
"T-thank you, Robin." she said without bothering to look at him. She just stared down at her fingers clasped together.
She noticed that Robin is sweeter to her in front of her parents. She knew that this was only just for a show but she couldn't stop herself from feeling touched by Robin's sweet gestures.
Ever since her first stay in the Frost's mansion, Krissy couldn't understand herself anymore. It was like she always transforms into a different person every time Robin is around her. Even the books she have read couldn't explain this sudden change in her.
What could this really be? Will it be worse? Or is it a change for something better?
