Robin was pacing back and forth, waiting inside the four of the hospital room with a sleeping Krissy. He was waiting for what the doctor had to say. After their drama, Krissy went unconscious making him very nervous.
He still wet but couldn't bring himself to leave her alone. He wanted to be the first person she saw when she would wake up. He wanted to be there when he needed him.
Suddenly, a knock on the door was heard. A doctor came in with the results. He was so focused in the results until his eyes found Robin's.
"You don't anything to worry about Mr. Frost. Your wife was just unconscious just fine. Well, in fact, they're both fine."
Confused, Robin looked at the doctor silently asking a question. The way he addressed Krissy as his wife was unsettling. He knew what was coming but waited until the doctor confirmed his suspicion.
"She is pregnant. Congratulations Mr. Frost!" The doctor smiled from ear to ear. He grew stiff and his eyes went wide.
Robin couldn't believe what he heard. He didn't know what to feel. The only thing that kept revolving in his mind was the fact that Krissy was fine and they are having a child.
He felt overwhelmed. He needed time to think. He needed space. With a kiss on the top of Krissy's forehead. He left.
Krissy woke up with a headache. She noticed that she was not on her bed. She looked around and she only saw the four corners of the white room. Then, she realized she was in the hospital. Everything came back to her. She fainted.
"Sweetheart, glad you were awake," she heard her Mom said
"Mom? What were you here?" Her voice was raspy. Her mother offered her water which she accepted and drank rather hungrily.
"I heard what happened and I had to come and see you. I'm really happy for you." Her mother's happiness was very unusual. Was she happy because she fainted? Krissy couldn't help but ask herself. But it was impossible. Her Mom was the sweetest thing she knew even though she was sometimes strict.
"Why Mom? Why are you so happy?" Her mother smiled widely.
"You're pregnant sweetheart. You're bearing his child."
Everything froze. She didn't saw it coming. They did it but it was only a few times. It was too fast to have a baby. Too fast, too soon. She could barely take care of herself. And now, she's having a child? What would Robin do if he knew? Would he accept the child? Would he leave her? Questions kept flooding her mind.
She remembered what he had said before she fainted. Was it true? Krissy wanted to ask him.
"Mom, where is he?" The urgency in her voice could be heard.
"He left," was all she said. She suddenly assumed that he didn't want the child.
Krissy cried. Maybe he didn't want anything to do with her. Maybe he didn't want the child.
She was young with a child. Her fiancee left her. What would she do now.
"I'll stay with you sweetheart. Don't worry."
"Happy birthday by the way."
She cried even harder remembering it was her 18th birthday. She imagined it to be perfect after his confession but she was wrong.
It was her worst birthday. It made her sad.
