Hayes POV

I'm so mad. I can't believe I just told Nash I have two girlfriends.

I need to break up with Jordan.

"Hayes, can I come in?" Nash says knocking.

I walk to the door and open in, and Nash walks in.

"Hayes why are you cheating on Madison?"

"I don't know, I've liked Jordan ever since the start of sixth grade, and we met up a few weeks ago at the park and we ended up kissing and... We started dating and I don't know we just both like each other. I like her, but I love Madison. I really need to break up with Jordan"

"You realize you need to do that now, so Madison doesn't find out and break up with you. I know how much she means to you. I'm very disappointed in you, Hayes. I didn't think you were like this. But I guess I thought wrong. You messed up big time, and now you need to fix it" Nash said

I nodded and Nash left.

*Next morning*

The sun shined through my windows, and I opened my eyes.

I went downstairs and got some breakfast.

Then I showered and checked my phone.

One text from Jordan.

J: Hey you awake yet?

H: Just woke up. You busy today? I need to talk to you.

J: Nope, I don't have anything today

H: Okay, why don't you come over in an hour

J: See you then

I went outside and practiced lacrosse for a while.

Then I went around to the front of my house and played basketball.

I saw Madison get out of her car and walk in her house, but she didn't notice me.

Then Jordan pulled into my driveway and got out of the car. She talked to her mom and then walked over to me. Her mom drove away and we sat down in the grass.

"So, you needed to talk to me?" Jordan said.

"Yeah, um, look. I think we need to break up."

Madison POV

I was walking around my house with nothing to do, so I decided to sit down in the front room and read. I grabbed my book and sat down on the couch, when something out the window caught my eye.

Hayes.

And another girl.

Alone.

I put my book down and looked out the window. Hayes said something, and then all of sudden, the girl leaned in and kissed him. I put on my shoes and ran to the door.

Then I took a deep breath, in case things go bad.

I whipped the door open and slammed it shut, so that Hayes and this other girl would notice. And they did. Well, Hayes did.

He looked across the street at me, and our eyes met.

Hayes POV

Right after I said we should break up, Jordan kissed me. On the lips.

But then I heard a door slam shut, across the street.

I looked up, and saw Madison.

I tried to look away and act like I never saw her, so I started to talk to Jordan again.

"Jordan, we need to break up" I say.

"Fine. We are done, Hayes" she said standing up.

I let out a sigh, and thought things got better, but they didn't.

Madison was running across the street to me.

"Who is she" she said with tears in her eyes.

"She's.. Uh.. Just a friend"

"Then why'd she kiss you!"

"We broke up, don't worry!"

"Don't worry Hayes? Don't worry?! You were cheating on me? I thought you were better than this, but I guess not! I can't believe you'd do this, Hayes!" She said with tears streaming down her face.

"I'm sorry, I really am. I love you so much more than her, Mad"

"Well I guess you don't love me that much, because you cheated on me."

"I do love you, so much. I mad a big mistake, and I realize that. But I love you"

She looks away, still crying.

"I just.. I can't do this anymore" she says.

"Madison, I love you, please I don't want to lose you" I say taking her hand.

She pulls her hand away "I'm sorry Hayes" She says turning away. She runs away from me, and starts to run down the street.

My eyes water, and I look down at the ground.

I messed up so much.

I didn't bother chasing after her because it wouldn't do anything.

I started to cry and cry, when something brought me back to reality.

A scream.

Not just anyone's scream.

Madison's scream.
