2. The Deal

Robert Stanley's POV

I just finished closing in a deal on the new clothing line for men with the Japanese dealers in my club cabin in college when I hear a knock on the door and a girl of about 5"5 tall, black hair in a tight bun with glasses comes in.
She's wearing a big red sweater with a black knee-length skirt with sneakers and with her sling bag around her right shoulder.
It was such a horrible combination!

"What do you want girl?" I ask arrogantly.
She comes forward and speaks softly.
"I-I have a proposal." Then she looks down nervously.
Okay....this is interesting.

I get a closer look at her face. She has the most beautiful pair of emerald eyes with her face carved out of perfection. She's one heck of a beauty. Damn!
But I don't understand what's with her dressing! It looks as if like she borrowed her granny's clothes.

"Proposal?" I give her a questioning look.

"Yes..I-I need your help." She bit her lips while adjusting her glasses.

"Hmmm.... What's in it for me? And how am I supposed to help you?" I ask while looking into her eyes.

"I want to change..." She trails off.
"And.....I know about your academic performances. I can help you with that." She takes out something from her bag and gives it to me.

Holy moly! I can't believe my eyes!

This girl here is the topper in my batch!! Gosh!!

I can't help it but find it amusing that this girl here is asking me to help her change, but how?

"In what way?" I raise my eyebrow.

"The way... I..I present myself.. "

Whoah!! This is getting more interesting.

"And why do you want to change?" I ask while looking into her emerald eyes.

"Because... I'm interested in a guy.........And this is the first time I ever felt like this for anyone.....so.. I wanna give it my all!" She spoke with so much determination in her eyes.

"Okay." Was my simple answer.

"But I have conditions." I give an evil smile.
You didn't think it was gonna be simple right?

"O-Okay..." She looks confused.

" First off.. This is just a deal between us, so we're not friends.
Second...we're strangers in front of the people.
Thirdly, don't fall in love with me. I'm not gonna accept your heart." I finish off arrogantly.

"Don't worry. I won't fall in love with you. And I agree to the conditions. " She looks into my eyes while speaking.

This girl's got the nerve to look back right into my eyes and not even waver when all the girls worship me!

"What's the lover boy's name?" I ask with a smirk.
"It's Ken Marshall. He's new here." She blushed while answering me.

Hmmmm.....a new guy...

"Alright. It's a deal then."

"Thank you so much Mr. Stanley!" She beamed with so much happiness.
It felt warming.....

"You can call me Rob" I don't know why.. But I don't like her calling me 'Mr. Stanley'.

"O-Okay.. Rob" She was preparing to leave when..
"What's your name girl?"

"Medley Stryder" With that she left the room.

Hmmmm.....I must say.. This girl is different. I'm looking forward to change her! Yes! Her 'Granny clothes'! She's gonna steal many hearts. But not mine! She's.....not my type.

Medley Stryder's POV

Yes! Yes! Yes! I can't contain the happiness in me right now!
Robert Stanley just accepted my request!!! This is like a dream come true!

"Med! What are you grinning about?" Lis brought me out of my reverie.

" Yeah.. Ever since you went off twenty minutes before and came back...you've been grinning like an idiot." Ayla eyed me.

Okay... I'll have to tell them.

"Guys.. I have something to tell you.. " I was about to spill out the news when Ken comes to our table in the cafeteria.

"Uhm.. Hi guys!" He smiled.

Ahhh.... His smile!

All three of us greeted him back and he took a seat beside me.
"Medley.. I have a favour to ask you. " He looked towards my side.
"Sure. What is it?" I feel comfortable with Ken now.
And I can feel the gaze of Lis and Ayla on me. Huff....

"Actually I'm having a hard time with the literature portion in English. So if you could help me with that.. " He requested earnestly.

"Of course! I would be glad to help you." I reply with a smile.

Since we had free class, I decide to help Ken.
I start explaining to him what we did the last semester and he's picking up really fast. Amazing.

"Thanks Medley! I don't know what I would've done without you." He smiles.

"I-I'm glad I could help you." I reply while blushing.
Why? Why do I have to blush? Ugh... This is embarrassing!

"You look so cute when you blush!" He chuckles.
I'm speechless. Did he just compliment me? Ahhhh..... This feels so nice!
"Haha...!" Okay.. An awkward reply. Huff...

I'm on my way back home when Ayla and Lis approach me.
"Hey!" I greet them both.
They grab me by my arms on both the sides and start dragging me along with them.
"W-What's wrong guys?" This is unusual.
"You were gonna tell us something before!" Ayla started.
"But then Ken came and interrupted us." Lis finished off.
"Ohhhh.... Yes!" I reply back with a grin!

Now we're all in my house inside my room, Lis lying on the bed while Ayla sitting on the couch and me on my chair.
"Now shoot!" Lis spoke out immediately.
Ayla gestures me to start.

Okay... Here goes my story..

After I finished sharing about my encounter with Robert and the deal... They both finish off with a
'What?!?' Haha...of course it's gonna be shocking. After all it's 'Robert Stanley'.

"You're so lucky Med that Robert agreed to help you!" Ayla mouthed with fake sobs.
"Yeah.. I'm speechless." Lis added.

We spend the rest of the time chatting about so many things and have dinner together and then depart from each other.
Dad dropped them both.

I finish my assignments for tomorrow and take a bath and was blow drying my hair when I hear my phone ring. I check to see the caller ID and find that it's an unknown number.
Okay... Weird?

"Hello?" I pick the call.

"Medley. It's Robert." I hear a deep voice on the other line.

How did he get my number?

"R-Robert? Hey... " I trail off..

"We'll start the plan from tomorrow. Meet me at the Street Park Lane-2 at five o'clock in the evening." He stated with arrogance.

"Alright.. Good night." With that I cut the call.

It still feels like a dream. Everything's happening so quickly! I'm so happy. I need to brace myself for what's gonna happen next! I'm really nervous!
But excited as well!!

With that.. I fall deep into a sleep.
I've got a big day tomorrow!
