🎵🎵Florida Georgia Line - H.O.L.Y

The following day began in a quiet and boring manner. When her parents had given them the permission to go, Ella thought the road trip was going to be so much fun but so far, nothing fun had happened. They all either lounged around or played board games which had also gotten boring. With nothing to do, Ella picked her laptop and settled on a movie; The Fault in Our Stars.

Desperately she tried but she couldn't get her mind of the kiss she and David had almost shared. She felt this warmth in her legs anytime she thought about him.
Speak of the devil. David entered her room in shorts and a sleeveless shirt that hugged his body and showed off his muscular chest and stomach. Don't drool, don't drool, Ella chanted in her head.

Casually, she said,
"Hey Dave, what's up?"

"Wanted to know if everything is okay. You kinda headed straight for the room after breakfast and it's almost noon."

"Oh yeah, just wanted to watch a movie."

"Cool! Which one?", David sat beside her on the bed.

"The Fault in Our Stars."

"Ohhh. I love that movie. Can I watch it with you?" David asked.

"Sure sure." Ella said with her heartbeat slightly rising.

David readjusted himself in the same way Ella had, with his back against the head board.

"What's Lois doing?" Ella asked him.

"Chatting with Tom." David replied.

"Those two have gotten really close."
David nodded at her remark and they continued watching the movie from where Ella had gotten.

Thirty minutes later, Ella had dozed off and had put her head on David's shoulder. He smiled and shifted closer so she could be comfortable. He thought Ella had been ignoring him after they had almost kissed the night before.

There had been so many times that girls had fawned over him but he hadn't been interested. A few of his friends in his old town had questioned his sexuality but he just wanted a girl who had a mind of her own and was independent. Not some bimbo who would follow him around and do whatever she asked.
Then he had met Ella when he first came to Jamestown. He could remember how electric she felt to him and now here she was with her head on his shoulder.

He turned around slightly and kissed her forehead and she stirred and went back to sleep. The movie ended and a tear dropped from his left eye. He had always hated the ending of the movie. The ones that really deserved happy ever afters are the ones that rarely got them.

A few minutes later, David hadn't moved because he really didn't want Ella to remove her head from his lap. Lois wheeled herself into the bedroom and kept on grinning when she saw them.

"Are you coming to sleep?" David mouthed to her.

"Yeah. Am I intruding on something?" she said quietly.

David shook his head and gently removed Ella's head from his shoulders and shifted her slowly on the bed so that she wouldn't wake up. He went to Lois and lifted her onto the bed. She moved to her sister and slept closely beside her.

He looked at them quietly and decided that the moment was too beautiful and went to take his phone to take a photo of them.

Tom was driving when David came from the room. If I could drive, I would help out Jade's dad a little, he thought.
When he picked up his phone, he saw 3 missed calls from his aunt and decided to call her back later.
Tom called out to him and he went to him.

"Do you like Ella?" he asked David out of the blue.

"Yeah. I kinda do."

"Why?"

"Err... I don't really know. I just like her. And she's a very independent and carefree person."

"So you like her because she's playing hard to catch?" Tom asked him.

"No, no. I like everything about her. How defensive she gets when it comes to her sister the way she tucks a strand of hair behind her left ear when she's nervous and those eyes-"

"Okay, that's enough lover boy. I just wanted to know if you like her for the right reason." Tom said.

"Trust me sir, I really like her."

David approached the girls' room and heard a loud thud. Alarmed, he rushed into the room and saw Lois on the floor coughing badly and David could see blood. He rushed to her and called out for Ella.

Ella got up groggily and asked,
"What's wrong?"

"It's Lois. There's something wrong with her!"
