Meeting the in laws

4 months till wedding
Alexia's pov.
I open my eyes rubbing the sleep from them. Today is going to be interesting since Ezra insists on me meeting his mother, and me re-meeting his father. My heart feels like it's beating out of my chest, and my stomach is tied in knots. I force myself out of bed and toward the bathroom. I walk into it seeing my handmaiden already filling the bathtub.
" I thought you might like a nice warm bath, before you start your day" she says giving me a grin. I nod and she leaves the room. I take off my nightgown, and let it fall to the ground. I get into the bathtub then start my routine. Once done I grab a towel and dry myself off. After that I put on my robe and walk back into my room. On my bed their is a dress along with a note. I pick up the note, and start reading

Please wear this dress to meet my parents. Also don't be nervous they will love you

I shake my head at the note since he knows he could have waited and told me that himself. I look down to see a beautiful dress.

It's very fancy. Definitely not something I would pick for everyday, but this is a special occasion. I wait until Amelia( handmaiden) gets back.
" Lady Crown why are you not dressed?" She asks with a raised eyebrow
" I don't know how to put the dress on" I state waiting for her reaction. She just shakes her head, and starts grabbing things. After an hour of putting on layer after layer. The dress is finally complete.
" okay Lady Crown time for your hair" she says. I groan but sit down. She pulls, and twists my hair for another hour until she's done. I look at the mirror, and see a beautiful hairstyle.

It highlights my curls, but I'm still presentable. Suddenly I hear a nock on the door.
" angel it's time to go are you decent?" I hear Ezra say
" yes. Come in" I say I hear the door open and his arms wrap around me.
" come angel it's a long drive from here" Ezra states looking worried.
" don't be worried I'll be fine" I say with a reassuring smile. I stand up and hug him.
" let's be off" I say. Taking his hand and dragging him out. We walk downstairs, and to the carriage waiting. I give him a quizzical look.
" my parents are very old fashioned so they sent a carriage for us" he says with a smile
" what are they like?" I ask dread filling my stomach
" hmm" he hummed
" your parents. What are they like?" I ask feeling very worried
" their not as bad as you would think. They live in a house surrounded by forest, because they don't like the hustle and bustle of the castle. My mother is very nice, but hates people assuming she won't speak her mind" he states with a gentle smile.
" what if they don't like me?" I ask my hands shaking.
" they'll love you don't worry" he says taking my shaking hands. He was very right about it being a long ride. After a three hours the carriage finally stops. The door on my side opens up, and Ezra is standing their. I look at the place he had just been then back at him. He smirks at me then holds out his hand. I slowly take it and stand up then step down from the carriage. He takes my hand and places it on his arm and starts walking. He walks at a slow pace so I can keep up. When we reach the door a butler let's us in, and suddenly Ezra is pulled away from me. I turn to see who did it, and I see a short girl with black blue hair and very pale.
" have you finally come to see me?" The girl asks with a smirk
" uh Josie this is my fiancé Alexia. Alexia this is my old friend Josie" he says carefully watching my reaction. I can't help, but smile
" it's a pleasure to meet you" I say not being able to hide the embarrassment from thinking something else.
" pleasure is all mine" she states. She doesn't look mad, and soon a megawatt smile takes over her face. I move toward Ezra and he chuckles. He was about to say something, but was cut off by a woman entering the room.
" Ezra how nice to see my son who never visits me" the woman who I'm guessing is his mother says.
" now that's not fare you guys live so far away, and I've had my hands full" Ezra says with a smirk
" yes yes. Oh hello I'm Veronica Ezra's mother. You must be Alexia" she says all I can do is nod my head.
" don't be nervous I don't bite much" she says then laughs
" come here dear I want to look at you" she says. I slowly walk over to her, and she looks me up and down. Then her eyes settle on mine.
" my oh my you have beautiful eyes" she says with a smile. I smile back at her.
" you have a beautiful home" I say looking around
" yes and it's quiet very different from the castle and something I hope my son will do" she says and I give her a grin
" I thought father was going to be here to" Ezra says
" your father is out at the moment he will be joining us shortly." She says before walking toward a double door. We follow her onto a patio. Her dark hair blowing in the wind she waves at someone, and suddenly his father is standing next to her.
" hello again" he says with a smirk
" hello" I say cautiously
" don't worry dear I won't hurt you" he states he's so much like Ezra. While more like Ezra is so much like him.
" come let's have lunch, and get to know each other" his mother says. Which leads to a four hour discussion about how me and Ezra are getting along. Also about the which will be happening in a little over three months. Finally we say are goodbyes, but they insist that we take the carriage which leads us to another three hour drive. After all that all I wanted to do was curl up into a ball and go to sleep. Once we reach home I jump out of the carriage and Ezra escorts me inside and to my room. After all that I get into my room shut the door and take off all the layers. I get into a nightgown set out for me. Then crawl in bed and go to sleep. Resting from the long day I had.
