Took me awhile to write this chapter! i've been busy since its the last couple of days of school.

Chapter 24

Caite

Niall and I texted and spoke on the phone often, neither of us ever mentioned that night though. He was in Australia now and I was still with Rob. Joanna and I were going to go Prom Dress shopping today. Senior Prom was a month away and we still didn’t have dresses. I was going with Rob and Joanna was supposed to go with Lance but they had broken up a week ago and Joanna refused to go but, I convinced her to go since it was our senior prom.

We went to the mall and looked at dress after dress. Joanna stopped trying on dresses and sat down on the bench of the dressing room and said, “I’m sorry, Caite but I don’t want to go.”

“Jo, we already discussed this. So what if you and Lance broke up? You can still have fun at the prom,” I said.

“But, I’ll be there alone,” she replied.

“What happened to the Jo that doesn’t care about what other people think?” I asked

“I don’t care about what other people think but I won’t have fun alone you’ll be with Rob and I’ll be the third wheel.”

“So we find you a date,” I replied smiling as an idea formed in my head.

“Who?” she replied as she got up and unzipped the black dress she was wearing.

“Hold on let me ask him, if he can,” I replied taking out my phone.

“Who? Caite tell me!!” Joanna asked as she let the dress fall around her feet.

I ignored her while I typed on my phone. I pressed send and then told her, “hopefully he can go.”

“Who is this? Do I know him?”

“Yes, of course you know him,” I replied as my phone vibrated. I looked down and saw Niall was calling me. “Hey Niall, are you busy?”

“Nope, saw your text and I just asked Paul and I think I can do it,” he replied.

“Really, your amazing hold on let me give it to her,” I replied as I handed my phone to Joanna and said, “It’s for you.”

“Hello,” Joanna said as her forehead wrinkled in confusion. I couldn’t hear what Niall was saying but then Joanna said, “You don’t have to its fine you’re probably busy.” She listened to what Niall said and then laughed and said, “Okay if you are sure.” Niall said something else that made Joanna laugh and then she said, “Bye, see you at prom,” I extended my hand for the phone as she pressed end and handed my phone back.

“He hung up?” I asked as I took my phone back.

“Yeah, he had to go,” she replied as she grinned. I nodded but I felt sad that Niall hadn’t wanted to speak to me. “Thank you, Caite you are amazing, now I have a date to prom! Not any date but Niall Horan,” she said as she clapped her hands.

“No problem,” I said as I slipped on a turquoise blue strapless dress.

Joanna turned around holding another dress she was going to try when she stopped and said, “That looks gorgeous on you.” She helped me zip it and I looked in the mirror and agreed that the dress was perfect.

I slowly took off the dress while Joanna tried on another dress we didn’t like. “It’s so hard with my red hair,” she complained as she pulled of the dress. I looked at the dress choices we had left and I handed her a creamy beige colored dress that I had liked and said, “your hair color is beautiful you just need to try on colors that will work with it.” She slipped on the dress and I smiled and said, “this is perfect.”

She turned and looked in the mirror and said, “Yeah, this is the dress.”

We left the store happily with our perfect dresses.  

Louis

We were in Australia now and the weather was amazing. Today we decided to go learn how to surf. The lads and I got dressed and walked down to the beach in our wet suits. We had two instructors and they taught us how to stand and other things while we were on land. Then they said we can go into the water and try it out.

“I’m NOT going,” Zayn said sitting down on his towel on the sand. We all nodded as we knew he couldn’t swim. Harry and Niall sat down next to Zayn and said they didn’t want to go now and will try it later.

“Louis, its only me and you mate,” Liam said looking at me.

“Let’s do it,” I said picking up my board and we both went into the water to surf for the first time. I felt the cool water touch my skin as I paddled into the water while lying face down on the board. The sun beat down on my head as I got deeper and deeper into the ocean. I could see a big wave coming and I smiled at Liam before slowly getting up to stand on the board. I partially rode the wave before falling into the water. We both kept going again and again until we were getting good.  I even rode a huge wave. Time flew and before we knew it, it was getting late.

“One more,” I told Liam as I paddled into the water. An average size was approaching and I slowly stood up on the board. I looked towards the beach as I rode the wave. I could see Zayn and Harry discussing something as Niall was eating. I could see Paul on the phone. I could see paparazzi taking pictures. I could see the sun beginning to set. I could see everything and I felt like I was the king of the world. I noticed a brown haired girl near Paul get up. She picked up her towel and shook it trying to get rid of the sand on it. She then folded it and grabbed her bag and slowly turned around and that’s when it happened. I lost my balance and I looked at her beautiful face as I fell into the water. I felt the water engulf my body as I sunk into the water. I didn’t move as I fell mesmerized, the girls face was etched into my brain. I noticed I couldn’t breathe and I began swimming up towards the sun. My head broke through the surface of the water and I looked back towards the beach but I couldn’t see her. I saw Liam paddle towards me and he said, “What happened? Are you all right?”

“Yeah it was nothing just lost my balance there, we should get going,” I said as I pushed myself back onto the surfboard and began paddling towards shore. Liam followed and we got back to the beach and I looked around as Liam joined the guys. I couldn’t see the girl anymore the spot by Paul was empty. I shook my wet hair as I turned around to join the boys.
