Chapter 4

Zayn

We were on our way to the signing. I had made myself not think about Sabrina at all but now that the signing was here she was all I could think about. Will I see her today? Is it even her? I kept thinking as we walked into the crowded store. I looked around and smiled at all the girls but I kept my eyes peeled for a certain face, her face.

We sat down to sign CDs and I checked to see if every girl that passed was her. Liam would ask me every few minutes if I had seen her yet and I would say no. A few minutes into the signing Louis sprayed some silly string on all of us and that made me relax a bit. All the girls that came to the signing were sweet. Some had even bought us presents, which was very kind of them. Due to the limited time I couldn’t really interact with the girls. So I just signed their CDs and smiled at them and gave hugs to the ones that asked. As time passed I was getting doubtful she would show up and that maybe I had imagined Sabrina in the crowd.

An hour into the signing I was positive she wouldn’t show up and stopped looking for her. The guards were rushing the girls past us and we couldn’t talk with them at all. I found myself just signing CD after CD. I smiled at the brunette in front of me and signed her CD. “Thanks so much Zayn,” she said.

The guards rushed her to move on and she didn’t get to hear me say “No problem love.” I took the CDs Liam was handing to me as I thought to myself this is ridiculous I couldn’t even talk to her properly I then signed some more CDs. I looked up to say hello to the next girl and said “Hey lo-” when I realized the girl in front of me was Sabrina.

She looked as beautiful as always. She smiled at me and said, “Hey Zayn, it’s me Sabrina.”

I was speechless for a second then I said “Sabrina hey…” before I could even finish my sentence the guards handed her, her CD and told her to move along. She looked like she wanted to say something but then she waved and walked to where the guard was motioning for her to go.

I couldn’t believe it. It was her and I was this close and I couldn’t even talk to her. I was mad at the guards I knew they were doing their job but that was my last chance to talk to her. Liam who had noticed what had happened told me “don’t worry you’ll see her again, we are here for a couple more days maybe you’ll run into her.”

I smiled at him and continued signing CDs as I thought about how farfetched it would be for me to see her again in this big city.

After the signing we went to get dinner and then went to our hotel to sleep since we needed to be up early the next day. I was in my room alone replaying what had happened in the signing. If we had had a few more minutes to talk we could’ve made plans to meet up. We could’ve hung out; I could’ve told her my feelings even though I’m like 3 years late. I told myself maybe it wasn’t meant t be and went to sleep.
