Chapter 3

-two weeks later-

Chief POV*

After two weeks of waiting on word for everyone, most of them can go home and return to shift soon. Although Cruz was the only one that didnt make it. Mills is still in the hospital and so is Kelly. This has seriously changed everyone and i dont know how we're going to live with this.

Gabby POV*

Matt and I walked into the house.

Me: feels good to be home

Matt: at least your okay

Me: same. I dont know what i would do without you

Matt: so you never answered my question.

Me: yes.

He kissed me. Our kisses got passionate.

Me: we have to start planning

Matt: ill handle it all okay?

Me: alright. Im gonna call Katie and Jay and invite them over.

Matt: how come?

Me: katie lost the baby..

Matt: oh geez..

Me: i wanna help them.

Matt: okay.

I walked into the other room and called Katie. She soon showed up later on.

Me: wheres Jay?

Katie: he didnt wanna leave the house..

Me: you alright?

Katie: yeah..

Me: no your not.

Katie: no im not..

She cried into me. I hugged her and tried to calm her down. This had to be really tough on her.. I cant imagine this.

Kelly POV*

I woke up at the hospital to see Erin next to me.

Me: hey.

Erin: your awake!

Me: how is everyone else?

Erin: cruz didnt make it. Everyone else went home. You and Mills are the only two left here at the hospital.

Me: oh..

Erin: i was worried about you

Me: dont worry im fine

Erin: i love you Kelly..

Me: i love you too Erin

She started telling me how intelligence was searching for the guy who did it. She also said that Katie was shot. I got upset when i heard that. She said Katie had lost the baby. It shocked me really. Erin was telling me how the guy who bombed us was a guy she would run with when she was a teenager. This is the first time shes ever spoken about her past with me. Normally she doesnt say anything. I still have more to learn about Erin and yes i did rush into it with proposing but i know for sure i love her. A lot.

-5 months later-

Shay POV*

Everyone was finally returning to work after the accident. I walked into the locker room and saw Gabby getting dressed.

Me: hey.

Gabby: hey.

Me: sooo whens the wedding?

Gabby; in a year. We gotta plan everything

Me: i cant believe this is your last shift with me.. I dont want another partner but you!

Gabby: dont worry, ill probably see you at calls and stuff.

Me: thats true..

The day went on. We didnt have many calls. One call was a woman in labor. Katie and Gabby delivered the baby. Gabby told Katie to become a paramedic. It would be nice to have someone i know as my partner.

-shift ends-

Gabby; you coming to Mollys?

Me: hell yeah!

Gabby; awesome!

*two days later*

I was home and I was sitting on the couch when i heard someone knock on my door. I opened it to reveal Devon.

Me: what?

Devon: im sorry Leslie.. Give me a chance..

Me: get out of here..

I shut the door. I waited till i heard her left then i went to Molly's when i walked in i saw Kelly talking to Erin at the bar. I snuck up behind him and covered his eyes.

Erin; guess who?

Kelly: Shay

Me: hey Kelly

He hugged me tight.

Me: im glad your okay.

Kelly; me too

Me: your coming back to shift right?

Kelly: oh yeah

Me: great!

Erin: how ya feeling hun?

Me: alright. Just tryna get through

Erin: thats good.

I walked away and went over to Gabby at the bar.

Gabby: guess what!

Me; what?

Gabby; so since i wont be on shift this weekend, they found a replacement already.

Me: oh crap. Who is it?

Gabby: Katie

Me: really?

Gabby; she took the test and passed and is gonna be at 51!

Me: awesome!! Does Jay know?

Gabby; yeah.. And no one is happy shes leaving intelligence but she wants to try this

Me: well dont worry your still gonna be my partner

Gabby; always

We fist bumped and she gave me a glass. We clinked our cups and took a shot.

Kelly POV*

Me: So Katie's last day is tomorrow?

Erin: yep..

Me: shes in good hands

Erin: yeah i know

I held her hand and we smiled. I love her so much. Its unbelievable. No one can ever understand how much i love her and how much she means to me.
