Chapter 4

Gabby POV*

I walked into Austin and was met by Lieutenant Walsh.

Walsh: Grabriela Dawson

Me: nice to meet you

Walsh: why dont you get to work making us up some lunch.

Me: uhm alright.

I went and put my stuff in a locker then went into the kitchen. It smelt like something died in there. I started cooking when the bells went off.

Everyone ran and we got our jackets on and headed out to our first call. I could tell these guys werent very happy about me being there but i dont give a shit. Although i really miss 51.

Shay POV*

We pulled up to the call and Katie and i got out. We grabbed the gurney and rushed it over to the building. This fire was ripping through the windows and roof. All the guys went in there. They brought out a little girl who was still some what alive. We rushed her in the ambo as Katie worked on her.

Katie: SHAY SHES CRASHING!

Me: place an IV in her to drain out blood from her lungs.

Katie: got it.

She did it and when she did i heard her say shit.

Me: what?

Katie: i hit her heart. GO GO GO!!

We rushed to the hospital. Pulled the girl out then doctors ran her into immediate surgery. We pulled into the house after all the guys were already there.

Me: so how was your first call?

Katie: crazy

Me: oh trust me it gets crazier

We laughed and walked into the dining room. Mills had just made some Baked zeatti. We all grabbed plates and started eating.

Mouch; so Katie, whats it like coming from the district to here?

Katie: alright. I really miss intelligence.

Casey: hows Jay holding up from the baby?

Katie: hes alright.. Kinda..

We all sat in silence for a minute. Just then the bells went off.

Main; Ambulance 61, sick person, 568 Carmichael Way

Me: lets roll

We ran out and hopped in the ambo. We got to the house and went inside. Some lady was on a couch with a needle in her arm.

Me: sweetheart why did you do this?

Girl: i always do this but now i just..

She started seizing. Katie and i put her on the floor. She finally stopped, we picked her up and took her to the E.R. We went up to the doctors because they knew who she was.

Doctor: Mary Lindsay.. Not surprised shes back..

Katie; wait... Mary Lindsay?

Doctor; yes you know her?

Katie: no. But i know someone who does..

We left the hospital and went to the 21st district.

Ruzek: hey guys

Me: bring us upstairs?

Ruzek: lets go

We followed him up. We ran in and saw Erin.

Katie: Erin!

Erin; yeah?

Katie: we found your mom.

Erin: what?

Katie: we found her. Shes alive. At the hospital right now

Erin was shocked. She didnt know what to make of it. It was pretty shocking news. But what she said surprised me.

Erin: i wanna see her.
