Chapter 8

Casey POV*

Its been a week and Gabby still hasnt woken up. The doctors dont seem worried but i am. I cant lose her. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. Shes my entire world. Antonio came in with food.

Antonio: hey, heres your food.
Me: thanks.
Antonio: shes strong man. Dont worry
Me: but i do. I need her to just wake up and be okay.

Gabby POV*

I woke up and i was in the building of the explosion. I stood up but my body still laid on the ground.

Me: what?
Cruz: Hey Dawson.
Me: Cruz. Are you okay?
Cruz: im dead.
Me: am i?
Cruz: no your simply dreaming. But you might want to see whats been going on while you were out.

We went through a closed door and ended up at the hospital. Matt and Antonio sit by my bedside.

Me: okay. Im still out. I get that.
Cruz: theres more.

We ended up in Kelly and Erin's apartment. She was grabbing a few bags and leaving.

Me: what happened?
Cruz: Erin went on drugs when she was raped.
Me: oh my god.
Cruz: and now shes leaving Kelly because he hasnt spoken to her since she came back from rehab.
Me: hes an ass sometimes.

Next thing i knew we were at Katie and Jay's place.

Me: whats going on here?
Cruz: Jay is missing. And Justin is staying.

Katie was cooking as Justin walked out of his bedroom.

Katie: hey. You hungry?
Justin: starving!
Katie: well lets eat!

Me: so are they-
Cruz: no no no. Their siblings remember?
Me: of course. Right. So wheres Jay?
Cruz: uhm..

We ended up in an alley. Jay laid on the ground covered in blood and dirt.

Me: oh no. Is he-
Cruz: no. But Katie's ex boyfriend beat him. Hes unconscious.
Me: oh god. Hows Shay?
Cruz: well-

We went to Shay's place.

All of a sudden Shay walks out of her bedroom wearing a t shirt drinking.

Cruz; shes been a mess without you. Gabby, we cant lose you. Or least they cant.
Me: but how does this all relate to me?
Cruz; you know how to talk to Kelly whenever him and Erin run into a funny situation. Your always there for Shay. You always help Katie and Jay. You keep Casey balanced. Without you he cant even live.
Me: so what do i do?
Cruz; open your eyes. Wake up Gabby. Wake up. Open your eyes.

I finally opened my eyes as Cruz's voice faded away.

Me: Matt?
Matt; oh my god.

He kissed my head.

Me: i love you.
Matt: i love you too baby.
Me: wheres Antonio?
Matt; he had to run. Theres a search party out for Jay.
Me: really?
Matt; hes missing. And intelligence is searching.
Me: how long have i been here?
Matt: a week.
Me: well im glad i can get home.
Matt; yeah the three of us.
Me: three?
Matt; you, me, and our baby.
Me: what?
Matt: they tested you. Your pregnant.

A smile came upon my face as a tear fell.

Me: im gonna be a mom?

I smiled while chocking up crying.

Matt: yeah. And im gonna be a dad. And we're gonna be great parents.
Me: yeah we are.

Kelly POV*

I woke up and looked over to the empty space where Erin used to be. I looked at the night table and saw her ring on there. I picked it up and stared at it. I got up and got dressed for work. I walked into the house. Shay was laying on the couch sleeping. She must have been drinking the night before. Katie was making herself some coffee.

Me: hey.
Katie: hey.
Me: any word on Jay?
Katie: nope. Im worried.
Me: think positive thoughts. Alright?
Katie: okay.

The bells went off.

Main; AMBULANCE 61 MAN IN ALLEY STAB AND GUN SHOT WOUNDS.
Katie: gotta run.

She hit Shay and they ran.

Shay POV*

We pulled up to the scene.

Me: theres Voight and Antonio and Adam and Alvin.
Katie: oh my god.

We hopped out and ran the stretcher over in the alley. Katie froze and saw Jay's body laying there on his stomach covered in blood

Katie: no. No. No.

She ran to him.

Katie: Jay? baby please wake up. Jay?
Me: lets get him to the hospital.

Antonio and Voight lifted him onto the stretcher. His face was all cut and black and blue and bloody.

Me: lets go.

We put him the ambulance. Antonio went with us. Katie tried to do whatever she could but it wasnt enough. We got to the hospital and the doctors and nurses rushed him into surgery. Katie started crying. Antonio hugged her.

Me: want me to tell Chief?
Katie: no. Ill go to work. Its too late to get someone.
Me: Katie-
Katie: i cant stay here.

We started walking out when Antonio stopped me.

Antonio; keep an eye on her.
Me: got it. Hows Gabby?
Antonio: im gonna go check on her now.
Me: call me if she wakes up?
Antonio: got it.

We went back to the house. Katie grabbed her phone and earphones. She changed into gym clothes. She went into the gym and started working out.

Kelly; is she alright?
Me: that call we went on. The man stabbed and shot was... Jay.
Kelly: oh god. Why didnt she stay at the hospital?
Me: she couldnt. I dont know.
Kelly: geez.
Me: just keep your space okay? Thats all she needs right now.
Kelly: okay.

I sat down and started reading the paper.
