Chapter 6

Casey POV*

We all were sitting at 51 just relaxing when the bells went off.

Main: TRUCK 81, SQUAD 3, AMBULANCE 61, ENGINE 51- APARTMENT BUILDING FIRE! AUSTIN IS ON SCENE, EXPLOSION.

We rushed to the call because once they mentioned Austin i freaked. I jumped out and saw Welsh.

Me: Where's Gabriela?

Welsh; i tried to stop her but she ran in. She must have some suicide wish.

I looked at the flaming building. Katie walked up to me.

Katie: your gonna go in?

Me: i have to.. To save Gabby.

Katie: Shay and I will be waiting out here.

Me: HERRMANN WITH ME LETS MOVE!

Chief: get a hose on this guys!

Herrmann and i went in. We called out for Gabby.

Herrmann: CASEY WATCH OUT!

He jumped ontop of me as the ceiling collapsed.

Herrmann; we gotta find her and quick!

We started crawling. I finally found someone but it wasnt her. Then i saw her helmet. I grabbed it and scrambled around to find her. I finally did. I picked her up bridal style and brought her out to the ambulance. Katie and Shay started working on her.

Shay; shes not breathing.

Katie; alright start an IV and CPR. We gotta get to the hospital quick!

The guys lifted her up into the ambulance. I watched the rig drive away. Kelly walked up behind me.

Kelly: hey, shes a warrior, shes gonna make it. I promise

I nodded my head. Welsh walked up to me.

Welsh; sorry man. She really had a suicidal wish. She didnt want to do anything anymore. I guess this was her way of doing it.

Me; listen here asshole I-

Chief: Casey!

I stopped quickly before i got fired.

I walked away as Welsh yelled to me.

Welsh: hope that bitch learned her lesson

I turned around and went at him.

Me: ALRIGHT THATS IT!

Kelly, Herrmann, Otis and Mouch all held me back.

Chief: CASEY! TO YOUR TRUCK NOW!

I freed myself from their grip and walked to the truck. I sat in it hoping Gabby would be okay.

We went to the hospital to go see her. Katie and Shay were in the waiting room. When we walked in we saw Erin and all of intelligence there.

Me: what are you all doing here?

Antonio: one of men was shot.

Erin: we just came to check on him. What you guys doing here?

Kelly: Gabby got hurt in a fire because of her asshole of a lieutenant

Erin: i hope shes alright.

I ran up to Katie and Shay.

Me: so?

Shay; shes on life support. The smoke vented into her lungs and they arent sure about her.. Im sorry..
