Chapter 5

Katie POV*

After Erin had seen her mom, we went back to the house. Shift was pretty boring. The guys joked a lot. I was washing my hands in the bathroom when Kelly walked up to me.

Kelly: how you like it here?
Me: its nice
Kelly: i spoke to Chief and he said your allowed to work in intelligence on your off days
Me: thanks.
Kelly: you alright?
Me: yeah.. I just.. Feels weird being here.. Im so used to the thrill of a cop.
Kelly: well now you'll experience both
Me: yeah.

Just then the bells went off.

Main: Truck 81, squad 3, Ambulance 61- man trapped

We ran to our trucks. We pulled up to the scene and a man was stuck in a motor of a tree cuter.

Kelly: is the truck off?
Guy: yeah
Casey: lets disconnect it, we dont need any surprises.

They started to disconnect it. Shay and I tried talking to the guy trapped.

Shay: honey whats your name?
Guy: mark
Me: okay Mark. Your gonna have to try and not move. We're gonna get you out
Mark: okay

Just then the motor started running and he was dragged even further.

Mark: AHHH
Me: Mark! Calm down!
Shay: how much longer Kelly?
Kelly: pulling it out now.
Casey: ready.
Kelly: one..
Casey; two..
Both: three

They pulled the motor out that was dripping blood.

Me: MILLS OTIS AND HERRMANN HELP US PUT HIM ON THE STRETCHER.

They slide him out and placed him on the gurney. We put him in the truck and sped to the hospital. We got back and everyone was tired. Mills had just finished cooking dinner so everyone sat and ate. After dinner i got a text and walked outside to meet Antonio.

Me: hey.
Antonio; its Jay.
Me: what happened? Is he hurt?
Antonio; hes not injured. But there is something wrong..
Me; what?
Antonio: we went out today and raided a apartment. The wife was on the ground dead and the man was sneaking out. Jay attacked him and literally started flipping out. Then your detective friend from New York pulled him off and Jay started punching him too. Now hes sitting in the cage at work. Voight said he was gonna talk to him.
Me: stay here.

I ran inside and told chief i had to run to the district. I grabbed my radio and Antonio and i left. I got there and went down to the garage. I saw Voight was about to hit Jay.

Me: STOP!

I pulled Voight off and stood infront of Jay.

Voight: katie.. Hes bad for you.
Me: No. Your bad for me! I was gonna come back but now im not!
Voight: listen to me.
Me: NO YOU FUCKING LISTEN TO ME! If i hear one more time that you fucking tried taking a smack at him, im gonna flip.

I pushed everyone out of the way and went back to the house. I laid in my bed pissed off and thinking if my life is even in the right place it should be at.

Kelly POV*

I was sitting in my office when Erin knocked on my door. I signaled her to come in and she did.

Me: hey babe

I kissed her

Erin: i got some news
Me: what?
Erin: uhm... Im pregnant!
Me: are you serious?
Erin: yeah. I went to my doctor today and she said i am
Me: oh my god! Thats amazing!

I kissed her and hugged her.

Erin: im scared to tell Katie..
Me: why?
Erin: Kelly, she lost her baby and me having one is even worse..
Me: ill tell her.. She'll handle it okay.
Erin: im so happy right now!
Me: im so glad! Oh hows your mom?
Erin: alright. It weird seeing her for the first time in years...
Me: i know. But your gonna be able to build a relationship
Erin: i dont know if i want to..
Me: why?
Erin: because.. Shes been out of my life for years and just to bring her back in.. Thats not right..
Me: give her a chance..
Erin: Kelly, she didnt even try to find me..
Me: just give it a try

Gabby POV*

The alarms went off and we all hopped into the trucks. We got to the building that was engulfed in flames.

Walsh; Dawson why dont you go in there and check for us.
Me: alright.

I went in and found some guy. I tried to pull him out but he was stuck. Just then everything exploded. I fell to the ground. I closed my eyes hearing the beeper go off as i laid on the cold ground. Did he really purposely try to get me killed.
