Chapter 1

Previously on Prologue

'I don't wanna be alone... I never ask for this... Why am I born like this' I thought to myself. I place my head on my arms.

Why can't I be like everyone else? I just want to have someone for me... Is it too much to asks?

-Meeting Them-

Y/N P.O.V

I didn't realise I've fallen asleep on the piano. I get up and starts cracking my neck. Then I start rubbing it gently, trying to ease the stiffness. 'Ouch.... I should make sure where I'm sleeping next time' I thought to myself. My neck is really sore.

I realise that it's already morning. I head to the bathroom and take a shower. 'What should I do today? It's really boring if I just stay at home. But what can I do?' I thought to myself. I just relax under the heat water. The warm water help me ease my tensed muscles.

Then I walk out of the house. I don't have Neighbours. I live on top of a hill. This place is a secluded area. No human would be coming here or they are too scared to be here. Only a few would come, but not to visit... They are here for some dare challenge. How annoying... They think this place is some kind of a game or something?

I start jumping from tree to tree, until I reached the city. When I get there, I just walk around in silent. Looking for something to do.

Then out of no where, I see a kid crossing the road alone. There's a truck speeding up from the other side. I quickly jump and get the kid, then avoid the upcoming truck. It was too fast that all you can see is the kid disappearing and appearing on the side road.

The kid looks up at me. I smile and caress her head. "Be careful next time, 'Kay?" I said. She smile and hug me. This action make me I froze slightly.... I'm not used to this type of act, especially from humans. Human usually would either ignore me or they are afraid of me. But I just pat her head gently.

She pulls away as she saw her Mom coming. "Mikayla... Oh! Thank God you're okay!" Her Mom say out of relief. I jump and land on top of a building. I watch as the little girl is being hugged by her Mom. Mikayla pulls away from her Mom and look up at her. "Mommy.... She saved me" Mikayla said, pointing where I previously stand. She looks around confused when she realised I'm no longer there. "Where did she go?" She asks to her Mom. "I don't know sweetie..." Her Mom said.

'At least the girl is safe' I thought to myself. I jump from building to building and arrive at the park. I take a seat on the bench and lean my head back, looking up at the sky.

"That's a great save back there" I jump at the sudden voice. I look behind me where the source came from. There's 3 person standing behind me. A guy with dark blue hair and blue eyes, wearing jersey jacket. There's a girl with long hair, wearing a school uniform. Then a boy with yellow hair and amber eyes.

I just look at them in silent. Then I look away. "Hey... I'm talking to you" the guy in jersey say, looking annoyed. I get up and walk away. I've always been alone... So there's no reason for me to be around anyone.

"Hey! Wait.... You can't just walk away when someone is talking to you?!" He yells, running after me.

I stopped running. "Why should I stay and talk? I've always been alone my entire life. Why should I stay and start a conversation with you guys?" I said, not looking at them. Then I disappear from their sight.

I appear on top of the roof. I walk over to the railing and place my hand on the brick as the other on my chest. I look down as my bangs covering my eyes. 'Why... Why does it hurt so much? I don't even know them' I thought to myself, tears starts to stream down my face.

I clutch my hair and scream. Heavy tears continue to stream down. I start to cry harder and start sobbing.

I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. I jump and turn around. To see the girl from earlier. But this time she's alone. I wipe away my tears. Then I look at her "what do you want?" I asks. She smiles at me and outstretch her hands to me. "My name is Iki Hiyori... Nice to meet you" she said. I look at her hand, then I look away "Y/N..." I said in a quiet voice. She move her hand.

I move away from the railing and take a seat on the available bench. She walks towards me and take a seat next to me. I notice she have a tail like thing on her lower back. But I know it's not a tail. It's her life line. She's a half-phantom.

There's a moment of silent. Then she breaks it. "Why are you crying?" She asks. "That's a reason I can't tell you. I just know you. Not that it matters. You'll just run away in fear if you know. Just like everyone else" I said. "Why would I?" She asks again. "You sure do ask a lot of questions, don't you?" I asks her. She just laugh in respond.

"I'm a half-demon..." I said, in a low voice. "What was that?" She asks. "I was born as a half-demon. I'm not a human" I said. Her eyes widened. Then she just smile softly in return. I look at her, confusion is evident in my face. "You're smiling.... You're not scared?" I asks her. She shook her head "nope... You're a friendly one. If you're evil.... You would just leave the little girl alone and let her get hit by the truck... But no, you saved her" she said. I look at her in shock. Then I just shake my head and get up. "I gotta go... Thank you for talking to me" I said. I was about to walk away, then I heard her calling my name.

I stop and turn to face her. "Can I see you again? I would love to be your friend. You said you've always been alone... You don't have to be anymore" she said. I just stare at her. Then a small smile make its way to my face. "Sure... I'll see you soon. Just call my name. I can hear you from a far" I said to her. She smiles and nod her head. Then I turn around and vanished.
