24 of June 2017.
Mom,
I love you so much.
I'm sorry that I can't come back home to celebrate Dad's birthday on the 26.
But I am writing this to you so you can wish dad a happy birthday for me,
I just heard that the houses right next to us had a crash, and screams of fear echoed. I'm afraid that it might be something, bad mom.
You always worried about them, the safety of the village, I'm sorry that I never listened to you.
Grandma hopefully is safe, I'll go check soon, I hope she is.
Mom, I wish I can hug and kiss you one last time right now because I hear the cries of my town.
The cries of a few are never good mom.
There's a loud noise mom, I'm scared.
Mom, Please don't worry, I'll be joining Dad soon and maybe Grandma, Aunt, and some of my friends, we'll be happier together.
Remember the stories? The stories Grandpa told both of us when we were young?
"Live your life to the fullest, Don't fear death itself but fear that you will miss the wonderful things that death took from you"
I know little brother and you will join us someday, don't worry, I'll tell them all to wait.
I'm sorry mom, I love you.
Take care of Little brother and yourself, please would you?

That night, a girl around the age of 15 was found dead under layers of dirt and stone, holding and protecting this note under her shirt. Rescuers had identified the girl to be Hua Lan Zhen (Flower, Orchid, Innocent) and brought the letter to the mother miles away.
