Thomas' POV

The doors weren't closing. Everyone was freaking out, I was freaking out.

No matter what I felt, I had to get these people to the exit.

Another night of barely surviving the Griever attacks, everyone was scared, Gally was livid.

We were hiding in the Homestead. Everyone was quiet, they were too scared to even breathe at this point.

Chuck was hiding behind me, his small hands pressed against my back. Suddenly, a large Griever arm shot through the roof of the Homestead, grabbing Chuck from behind me.

I grabbed his hand, not letting go. Oh god, I couldn't lose him.

Alby went at it with a large piece of wood, almost breaking it in half. It let Chuck go, it's needle that contained it's venom dropped to the floor.

We all sighed together, my arms wrapped around Chuck.

Another metallic arm came through the roof, grabbing Alby. I ran over, grabbing his hand, trying to pull him back inside, but it was too late.

"Get them out." He said to me.

The Griever pulled him out and he was gone.

After they took Alby, the Maze fell silent. We all shuffled out of the Homestead, taking in the disaster around us. Everything they built was destroyed.

Gally was coming over to us, anger clearly, very clearly, written across his face. "Gally-"

He cut me off with a punch to the face, knocking me to the ground. He started yelling about how this was my fault, that I put them here.

Maybe I did. Maybe he was right. I needed to know. I needed my memories back.

I grabbed the needle from Chuck's hand. "I need to remember."

I stabbed myself with the needle, the venom spreading through my body. I fell to the ground, falling unconscious.

Blake's POV

"What am I in trouble for?" I asked clueless.

"We know about your plan." Ava said, sitting me down in a interrogation room.

"What plan?" I asked.

"Reed told me about it."

I looked at him. "I trusted you, I literally came to you in the worst times looking for your assurance, you asshole."

"You didn't think he wouldn't tell his own mother?"

My breath caught in my throat at the shock. "What?"

"He came to me the same night you told me, I just let you play through most of your plan before I arrested you."

"What you're doing isn't fair."

"The letter into the Maze, smart," she smiled at me. "We let you send it through, give them the hope, we have an entire army of guards waiting for them at the exit."

"You bitch." I spat at her.

They were going to die. Because of me. Thomas was going to die.

In an split moment, I grabbed the gun from the guard beside me, shooting Reed. I aimed at Ava but couldn't bring myself to do it. She fell to her knees beside her son.

I ran from the room, shooting the guards after me. I made it back to my lab, seeing where the boys were.

They were almost through the Maze. They were fighting a Griever. I threw the gun around my shoulders before running across the entire compound, barely making it through checkpoints.

Of course Ava would have tagged my ID.

I was almost to the exit. The bandage has ripped off my arm and my wound was starting to bleed again.

Sirens went off around me, making me fall to the ground. Then the gunshots sounded. They weren't firing at me.

Screams filled the compound as I pushed open the doors to the exit. One more door.

One more door that they were probably about to burst through.

I shoved the key through the lock before throwing open the door. There they all stood.

"C'mon we have to go now."

"Blake?" Thomas' voice echoed through the hallway.

I turned around, finally meeting his brown eyes. Tears stung my eyes as I threw my arms around his neck, my face digging into his shoulder.

His arms wrapped around my waist, holding me against him. "I should have read your letters, I'm so sorry."

His hands rested on either side of my face as his eyes looking into mine. "It's okay, you saved us."

Someone cleared their throat, making me turn around. Wow. Awkward.

"Guys, this is Blake," he said to me. "She saved us."

"That's great," Minho said. "How do we get out of here?"

Suddenly, gunshots filled the hallway and I quickly pulled them all into a small room, holding my breath.

A/N

I'm very aware that I switched up the story line, so just to be clear, Thomas did go into the Maze when he wasn't supposed to the first time but Blake was too busy trying to figure out a plan and reading his letters that she missed it, it will be explained later in the book.

I just wanted to be clear that I switched the story line so if you're confused, feel free to comment or message me and I'll clear it up!

Thanks babes!
