Juliet's Conference

Betty's POV
We just got back into the swing of things after the Christmas season and we had to go to Juliet's parent teacher conference. Jug has to work but he said he'll be back on time. "Jug please just take off." I Said to him as we laid in bed.

"I'm sorry. I'll do my best to make it on time but I think I will."

"Jug don't you think you need to work less. Danny always wants to play with you but you're never here."

"I know I know. I'm so sorry. I'll be off this weekend."

"Ok." He got up and got ready. I did too. He said bye to the kids and gave me a kiss. "Bye. Love you,"

"Love you too Betts." He left leaving me with the kids. I took Juliet to school and played with Danny at home but it was time to go to her conference. Juliet just got dropped off from the bus stop and we need to head to the school.

"Come on Juliet. Come on Danny." Danny held my hand as we walked to the car. Juliet got in her booster and Danny in his seat. We got there and I was supposed to meet Jug at the front.

B: where are you?! You better not be late this time!
J: on my way now! I'll be there soon!
B: ok. Love you
J: love you too.

We got into her class but Jug still was h here. I quietly groaned. We continued with the meeting and half way through Jug came in.

"I'm so sorry I'm late. The traffic was horrible." He said sitting beside me. We finished the conference. Juliet seemed to be doing good which I appreciated. But once we got home I was furious. The kids were at Veronica and Archie's. They wanted to sleepover.

"Jughead! Seriously! Again!"

"I swear I left fifteen minutes early!"

"Honestly Jug im tired of having to take care of the kids all by myself. I love how hard working you are but you need to take a break once in a while. Help me out. Help the kids out."

"I know. I'm sorry."

"Please Jug just take some time off. I honestly can't take it anymore." I sighed sitting down. I rested my head in my hands. He sat beside me and rubbed my back.

"I'm sorry Betts. I didn't know you were so stressed out."

"I love you, I love the kids. But taking care of them all the time can be so overwhelming. And you need more time with the kids. We should be a family."

"Ok. I'll take more time off."

"Thanks." I gave him a quick kiss. Then his phone dinged. "Who is it?" I asked. We don't have much privacy since we're such an open couple so I could ask that and not seem annoying.

"Oh it's Toni. She wants to meet at pops."

"Jug-."

"I'm sorry I'll be home in a little bit. She said it's urgent. I love you." He gave me a kiss and left hurriedly.

"What about our conversation of spending more time with family." I Said quietly to myself. I sighed. Why does he always have to leave. And he's been spending an awful lot of time with Toni. (She works with him and they're friends)

He came back an hour and a half later. "Juggie. You said it'd be short."

"I know I know. I just lost track of time." He said trying to give me a kiss. I turned my head away. "What Betts?"

"It's just-."

"What?"

"It's nothing."

"If it were nothing you wouldn't be so worried. Tell me."

"It's just we had this whole conversation about family time and you just leave. And you've been spending a lot of time with Toni."

"Do you not trust me?"

"Of course I do! I just wish you were here with your family instead of Toni."

"Toni is my friend."

"You don't get it. Just leave it. Whatever."

"What has gotten into you Betty?!" He asked angrily.

"Honestly Jug you don't understand! It's fine." I Said as a tear rolled down my face. "I can't do this anymore." I walked up stairs and sat on my bed. I sighed. He didn't understand. He came up shortly after and sat beside me.

"Betty. What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Just- it's fine. You probably don't care."

"Of course I care. My wife is upset. Just tell me."

"Ok. It's just you work all the time with Toni and on your free time you hang out with her. And she was a childhood friend growing up on the Southside. (Just say she was) I'm just left here with the kids. And the kids miss their father when you're gone all the time. I miss my husband. My wonderful handsome husband. Your life used to revolve around us. Me, Juliet, and Daniel. Now it seems it's revolved around work and Toni. I don't even know what you guys talk about. It's just sad ok. I don't like being here alone without you at night. When you're meeting up with Toni. Do you know what happens when you leave? I'm alone. In our bed without you by my side. So forgive me if I don't like it very much."

"I'm sorry."

"Ya know you say that a lot these days Jug."

"I really am. I didn't know you felt this way."

"It's fine Jug,"

"No it's not. I'll make it up to you."

"Ok." I gave him a kiss. We soon fell asleep.
