The Forest

The Lake House (Clover's POV)

The house looks just as I remember it; Old, but comforting. I started to tear up at the sight of the house, but Alex ran up to me and wrapped his arms around me. It was a lot to take in, since I hadn't been there in eleven years. I'm not going to lie, it was difficult going back there. But I had to put that behind me, at least for the week with my friends.

"So guys!" I said, while walking into the house, "this is it! Um, put the snacks and shit in the kitchen. Go pick out your rooms, but don't y'all try to steal the main master bedroom. That's my room. Pick your own damn rooms!"

I heard groans, and then people running up the stairs. I couldn't help but laugh. I put my suitcase down by the stairs and ran up the stairs to see which rooms they chose. Jinx and Alex chose the second master bedroom; Loren, of course, chose the most tumblr room in the house; single bed, two bay windows, and it looks right over the forest. Loren's older sister, Delilah, chose the room right beside mine; it was a small twin sized room, but she wanted it, so I let her be there. 

Then I went to my room, formally known as my parent's room. I couldn't let anyone else have it, since it used to belong to my parents. It was the last place that they were seen alive. I just couldn't get over than. I changed the blankets and the sheets so that I could lay down without crying uncontrollably. I took a nap for at least twenty minutes and came down the stairs so I could make lunch. 

"You should make quesadillas! Or chips and salsa!" Loren shouted over the radio, which was blaring.

"Yeah, or should could make something good and make Jello Shots!" Alex yelled in turn.

"Or I could make something called 'Food'." I said, jokingly. "How about fish and chips?"

"As long as there's some salad, I am okay!" Delilah screamed from the couch.

We all laughed, and I called Jinx in the kitchen to help me make lunch, and a special surprise for Alex. We made fish and chips, and salad for lunch. After we were done eating, Jinx went into the kitchen and tried to grab what he had made for Alex earlier; his favorite dessert Chocolate dipped strawberries. They were arranged so beautifully around the plate, you wouldn't have been able to tell there was something in the middle of the plate. However, he came back to the living area, because Alex was peeking.

"Alex, close your eyes or you will ruin the surprise!" We all squealed, while Jinx pleaded.

"Ugh, okay, okay. But I don't like this one bit," Alex said, while severely doubting his life choices. 

As soon as Alex covered his eyes, and Loren threw a blanket over his face for good measure, Jinx ran to the kitchen and grabbed the plate of strawberries.

"Don't peek yet. I'll be in there in a moment," Jinx said calmly. 

"Hurry up please! I want to know what's happening!" Alex screamed, startling all of us. 

Withing a few seconds, Jinx was in the living area once more with the plate of chocolate strawberries. "You can open your eyes now, babe."
