"So tell me everything that you know about Loren, and what led up to last night's events." One officer tried to calmly interrogate me, Delilah, Alex and Jinx. Then, we were split up into our different interrogation rooms, so we could make our statements.
"So here's how it all started," I paused taking a deep breath, "Yesterday was Senior Skip Day. So I decided what better to do than go to the Lake House that I had a lot of summer memories in. I hadn't been back there in years, since my parent's death. So I thought it would be a good idea for all of us to go and hang out to maybe make some happy memories. Well, we came to the lake house and it looked the same way that I remembered it. I just never thought it could go so dark so fast. " I started to tear up, and the two officers that were in the room with me passed me a thing of tissues.
"I know this is emotional for you, and we are so very sorry for the loss of Loren. But we need you to be strong and remember everything for us. Everything that you can remember about last night would be extremely helpful in trying to find Loren's murderer. So please, just take a minute and then continue."
I took a deep breath. "So we got to the lake house and we ate lunch. Then Jinx and Alex had a cute little moment and they went up stairs and cuddled in their room for the rest of the night. The rest of us drank, and ate the chocolate covered strawberries until we had consumed every single one of them. I went up to bed, after an entire afternoon of drinking, at about nine or ten o'clock. I was so tired, but I don't know what any one else did after that. I woke up at around ten, got up and cleaned, then woke every body up at 12:30 and then I went into Loren's room, which is when I saw the note. So then I ran down the stairs and freaked out, got everyone to go out side and help me look for her body. Then, I found her on the side w-"
The police man interrupted me, "Did you touch her body or mess with it at all?"
"No," I said, clearly annoyed from being interrupted, "now may I please continue?"
"Sure, but what else is there to say?" The officer asked, confused.
"I found her body on the side walk and we cried. So many tears were shed on that path. I called the guys over, and we all broke down. I never want to be back there again. Even though I know that I have to go back and get my things and such. I already didn't like that house, since it was the last place that my parents were seen alive."
"I'm sorry for those losses. However, currently I have two officers going to that lake house so that they can collect your's and your friend's belongings for evidence. If you have anything else that you clearly need, just let us know and we will let you know if you can have access to it."
"May I go with the officers? I know it's a closed section, but I just want to say goodbye to her. Since it was the last place she was alive, you know? I just want..." I stopped. I couldn't finish. I broke down once more and started crying again.
I asked the officers if I could leave the interrogation room, or at least have them leave and grab some water so I could drink it and not be so dehydrated. The two male officers in the room gave each other a look, and I have a feeling they were going to say no. However, the only female officer in the room handed me the trash can, some crackers and a bottle of water, then made the two male police officers leave the room, so I could cool down. I took a few deep breaths as I faced the mirror, which was obviously a one-way mirror.I looked down at my shoes as the officers returned to the room. They could clearly tell that I was distraught and that I didn't want to talk anymore.
"You're free to go for now. Your friends are waiting in the hallway. Don't leave town, unless you talk to us first, because we might need a few more statements from you," the female officer said calmly as she opened the door.
Autumn, Delilah, Jinx, and Alex all looked at me as I exited the room. I started crying, as we got into a group hug. I couldn't handle it anymore. I wanted to leave that police station as soon as possible. I pulled them all through the doors, and I got to my car and just sat in the driver's seat, bawling. I heard Delilah get in the car. I didn't stop her; just put the car in drive and headed for the park.
