Today was a stressful day for you. The world seemed to go against you and nothing could be done about it. You've gotten fired from your job. You locked your car keys in your car. You dropped your coffee while walking home. And when you arrived home Gracie had an accident on your favorite pair of shoes despite her being potty trained.
You felt as if you were pushed to the limit when the clock struck midnight and Zak still wasn't home. The van he had been driving in with Aaron, Jay, and Billy broke down 30 minutes away from town. Your head pounded against your hand as you felt hot tears travel down your face, wishing you could go and pick up the boys but remembering you didn't have a car at the time either.
It was 2am and Zak finally made it home, exughsted. "How was..how was your investigation?.." Zak shrugged, pushing the back of his head against your chest. "Pretty good. Got some really intelligent responses.." He didn't seem very talkative and it concerned you. "Hey what's wrong?.." You ask. He shakes his head. "There's something up.." He sits up, his face inches from yours. He sighs and grabs you, holding you tightly. "Why didn't you tell me you had a bad day?"
You scoff lightly. "What makes you think that?.." Zak laughs lightly in your neck. "I've known you for years babe. I know when something is wrong. I know when you're upset. I know when you need someone or just need some comfort.."
You sigh into his shoulder as the tears finally start to fall. Zak refuses to let you go after you finish crying, knowing that you needed this whether you were in tears or not. "If it'll make it any better..you don't have to talk about any of what happened today.." You nod, finally being able to look at him again as he had let you go. He held your face in his hands, his thumb wiping away tears that were left on your cheeks. "I'm here for you. Okay?" You give him a half smile as he smiles back, hugging you again.
