MIKEY'S POV
Back to the studio!
We're practicing the opener and then my group, Next Up is doing the choreography.
"Hi top fourteen!" She said.
"This week's opener is Uptown Girl by Billy Joel but there's a twist." She said.
Everyone looked around in fear.
"I'm going to be featured in it! Except I'm just acting, not dancing." She said.
I got really happy for some reason.
"Do you know what you're doing in the opener?" Bloom asked.
"I'm the quote on quote uptown girl. So y'all are supposed to be like in love with me I guess." She said.
"Already done!" Drew said.
We got working.
"Try it with my entrance again. Don't get distracted just because I'm being added to the group." She said.
She came out.
She did a twirl in front of me and I had to act like I was fainting.
Low key I was.
"Amazing work guys! Where are my Next Up guys?" She asked.
Me, Brady, Dorian, and Jaden raised our hands.
"Y'all are stuck with me." She said.
She took out four chairs.
"So y'all know your song is True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. It's a slower song so for a majority of it y'all will be sitting." She explained.
"Who starts it?" She asked.
"Right here." I said.
"You'll be standing singing to the camera. Then the next verse which is?" She asked.
"Me." Brady said.
"The camera will pan to Brady giving you enough time to get to your chair." She said.
We tried it.
She had Jaden and I switch spots during the song.
"It's good. It's clean cause there's very little movement. But I feel like there's a lack of connection. What does this song mean to you?" She asked.
"Makes me think of my dad. He's been in and out of prison. He hasn't always been there, but just this year he's been apologizing to my family saying he's going to try to be there for us more." Jaden said crying.
Sophie and the rest of my group hugged him.
This must be the connection Sophie's been looking for.
