i would write a novel
because your amber eyes need sweet poetry to read
a life
i would spend
to give you what you want and need
a universe
i would give
to do things of which you couldn't even dream
for you
i would wake up early
and stay up late
because for you i'd put aside the things i hate
i would give you my time
and i would give you my life
each of my mornings and all of my nights
but for you, what i actually do
is wait up for your text
i think you're the best
every day i hover by the phone
waiting to hear from you,
perhaps because i'm alone
but i beg my mind to give you a break
because you're all i think about
even when i need to rest
your memory is always around
in my dreams
as i sleep
because, it's true
there's not a thing i wouldn't do
for you.
