"Kyra, Aaron's calling again," Kendra called from the front.
"Don't care."
He could keep calling until he turned blue in the face for all I cared. I wasn't going to speak to him.
Kendra appeared in the doorway of the back room and folded her arms with an annoyed expression.
"When are you going to tell us what he did?"
I refused to tell Kendra and Deja what Ryan had revealed to me. I should've heard it first from Deja, not my asshole ex-boyfriend. That's what really pissed me off.
"You can stop looking at me like that 'cause I'm not saying shit."
I absentmindedly flipped through a magazine blatantly ignoring whatever look Kendra was giving me.
"He's just going to keep calling, Kyra. At least tell him what he did. You don't have to give him another chance."
Saving me from having to respond, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out, and it was Aaron calling me. I gave in and answered it.
"What?"
I heard Aaron's sigh of relief. "Kyra, can we talk? Will you meet me for dinner tonight?"
I ignored Kendra who was frantically nodding her head at me even though she had no idea what he was saying.
"Sorry, I'm busy."
"I have no idea what I did to piss you off, but I'm trying to make it up to you."
He always had something sweet to say making it nearly impossible to stay mad at him. He was clearly confused, so I decided I'd at least tell him why I was pissed.
"Fine."

As soon Aaron and I got seated at the restaurant, I laid it all on the table.
"I don't want to be out late, so I'll just cut right to the chase."
He rubbed his hands together, looking uncharacteristically uncertain and nervous. "Okay."
"Ryan is my ex-boyfriend," I told him. "He cheated on me, and it ended badly. He came into my store running his mouth."
He sat there looking confused as hell, obviously not catching on. I was going to have to spell it out for him.
"You and Deja..."
His eyes widened. "That's what this is about? God, Kyra, I thought—never mind."
I folded my arms across my chest. "Are you going to explain why I had to find out from Ryan and not from the two of you? If not, I'll leave right now."
He sighed. "Tiny and I were never serious. Cameron knows, and he doesn't care. I was wrong in assuming you wouldn't either."
No shit.
And why did he call her Tiny?
"It's weird for me."
"I get that now. I'm sorry I didn't tell you."
I was going to need a lot more than that. "How long were you together?"
He shrugged. "Couple months. We weren't dating though."
After everything I told him about Deja, he didn't think to mention that he'd been with her. I was starting to wonder if I could trust him to the truth in the future.
"Is there anything else?" I questioned. I didn't want to be suspicious of him, but my guard was up.
"No, that's it. I promise."
