I looked like a whale.
I felt like a whale.
I was a whale.
Kendra and Deja loved the way I looked and assured me that I was glowing.
The day of my wedding was supposed to be the happiest day of my life, and it was proving to be the most stressful day of my life. My dress seemed to be getting smaller by the minute and I was sweating my makeup off.
My feet really hurt and my lower back hurt too. I really wanted Aaron to massage it like he did before we'd go to bed every night.
I groaned as I touched up my makeup for the sixth time that day.
"Kyra, honey, are you ready?" Deja asked.
I nodded firmly. "Yes, I'm ready," I said.
An hour later, we were finally married. After months of waiting, he was finally mine.
Everyone was with us to celebrate. His daughters, his sister, his mom, Orion, Jett, Rob, and Viviana.
My parents were there too, and it felt so good to know that they cared enough to come. I loved everyone so much.
As Aaron and I shared out first dance as a married couple, he kissed my cheek. "Can't wait to get you out of this dress," he whispered.
Suddenly, I couldn't wait to get out of it either.
I grinned. "Behave."
He laughed. "Why should I?"
"Because I'm your wife now, and you should do as I say."
His smile faded, but his eyes were filled with so much love. "My wife," he repeated his voice heavy with emotion.
"I love you, Aaron Bradley."
"I love you too, Kyra Bradley."

When everyone started to leave the hall where our reception took place, I looked around for Aaron. The girls and Viv had left already, and I caught Aaron's mom walk out the door with Janelle behind her. But Aaron was nowhere to be found.
With my hand on my stomach, I walked outside and saw Aaron deep in conversation with his father.
They shook hands and a wave of relief came over me. I hadn't asked Aaron what went down between him and his dad, but I had a feeling he never really got the closure he was looking for.
But he looked content as he turned his back on his dad and walked towards me, a gentle smile on his handsome face.
"Hey, Mrs. Bradley. What are you doing out here?"
Though our relationship wasn't perfect, and we had many bumps along the way, in the end, our love survived because it was the only thing that mattered. I was nothing without him, and he was nothing without me.
I fought a grin. "Just looking for my husband. Have you seen him?"
He stopped in front of me, taking my hand. "Right here, babe. Always."
