Eventually the sun had come up, and Jet came out of the bedroom, probably looking for us, because we should in all honesty be in there asleep. He looked very surprised to see Party there, asleep.
"How long have they actually been sleeping?" he whispered.
"Since like midnight or something," I said, not seeing the big deal.
"Please don't wake them up just yet, I don't even know how long it's been since they actually got a good night's sleep." I obliged, and soon Kobra and Ghoul came out, laughing and being loud. That's when Party woke up with a start, and when they realized they had fallen asleep on my shoulder, their face turned as red as their hair. They leaned away quickly, and asked if I had gotten any sleep that night.
"Yeah, I got some, before I noticed you were gone and came to look for you."
"You shouldn't have stayed awake all last night just for me," they said, and I could tell they felt pretty bad.
"It's okay. I'm pretty used to not sleeping, with all the school trips I used to go on, when we just didn't feel like sleeping. Besides, you needed it more than I did."
"Okay," they looked unconvinced.
"Who wants breakfast?" Ghoul asked, taking out an ancient looking frying pan and pulling some food out of the supply I brought with me.
"I think the better question is, 'Who doesn't want breakfast?'" Party laughed, and looked at me, seemingly for approval, so I laughed too, which made them look like they felt better, so I felt better too.
"When are you going to tell him?" I whispered to Party, gesturing at their brother.
"I don't know. Sometime today, but not just yet, he's in an uncharacteristically good mood."
I was about to answer when a plate of mediocre looking food was placed in front of me. "Eat," Ghoul said. I did as I was told, and after we were all done, Party started to make a plan for today.
"Okay, so I'm taking Kobra and Ghoul out to go shoot some stuff, and Jet can stay here with (y/n). By the way, you need a Killjoy name, so start thinking about that today."
"But I wanna go with you guys!" I protested.
"You need to rest," they retorted.
"Okay, but is there anywhere I can take a shower?"
"Yeah, that'll be awkward. There's no running water or electricity here, so we wait until nighttime and then bathe in the lake. It's okay, we promise not to peak. Right Ghoul?"
"Why are you looking at me?" Ghoul asked innocently.
"Anyway, you two can stay here and do whatever, I'm going to go get ready to go." With that they left.
"So, what are we going to do today?" I asked Jet.
"I don't know, I'm usually out all day with them. You can do whatever you want I guess."
"Can I clean this place up? I'm kind of a neat freak."
"I don't really care. I guess that would be pretty nice. Later I can take you out and teach you to shoot."
"Yeah, that won't take long. I took a class on shooting and survival skills in sixth grade, and I was the top of the class.
"Well, okay then, never mind." He laughed.
As I was cleaning, I couldn't help but wonder what all the people at school would think when I didn't show up today.
