I woke up next to Party, and leaned back to look at their face. Then I noticed something, and I don't know how I didn't notice it earlier.
"Good morning, beautiful," they said.
"Party...your hair...it's black."
"You just now realized that?" he laughed. "I guess we'll have to do something about that today."
"But you can't dye red over black!"
"Who ever said it had to be red again?"
"I did!"
"Okay, well that settles it then. I'll have to bleach it."
"Good. Let's do it." I started to pull the blankets back, only to be hit by a wave of cold air. I felt Party shiver under me.
"Do we have to get up now?" they asked.
"Yes," I answered, laughing.
After we had bleached Party's hair, Ryan came over to us.
"Dracs in zone four." He looked excited.
"You are not coming with us Ry," I said.
His face fell. "Why not?"
"Because you can't freaking shoot that's why," Party said. "We'll leave Brendon here to keep you company while we're gone."
"And keep it kid-friendly while we're gone," I added, knowing my friends.
"You guys are no fun," he pouted.
I laughed and got out of the bed, pulling on my boots and jacket. I didn't pay attention to what jacket I grabbed anymore, but today I ended up with the purple leather one from my first day. I grabbed Party by the hand and dragged him out to the car that I had become so familiar with.
They got in the driver's side, I got in the passenger's, and everyone else piled up in the back. When we saw the familiar van and Dracs started coming out, we shot them as fast as we could, but there were a lot of them. I was so caught up in shooting the ones that came after me that I didn't notice Party was in trouble. At least not until it was too late. I heard their scream, and when I turned, they were on the ground. I ran over to them, hoping it wasn't deadly. They had been shot dead center in the chest.
"Party—"
They looked at me. "(y/n), I love you. Never forget that. You will never be alone, and I want you to keep fighting as long as you can. Keep these guys in check, and make sure they don't get themselves killed."
"I love you too, and I promise. Nothing will happen to them if I can help it," I said before kissing them.
After that, I shot down every last Drac with a vengeance, until the only ones left standing were the Killjoys, staring at me with their mouths wide open.
"Say hello to your new leader, boys."
A/n: So here's the thing. This needed to end, but I will do a sequel, eventually. My question to readers is this: Do you want the reader to die early in the sequel and have it be about them finding each other in the afterlife, or do you want it to be her as a kick-ass leader of the Killjoys? Bye!
Update: I'm writing the sequel, and when I finish it I will start posting the chapters.
Update again: I've finished the sequel and have started posting the chapters once a week. It's called "May Death Never Stop You."
