"Hey there, Jailbait." I said as I sat in front of Alaric's cell.

"Not funny."

"You know they warn us all about miscreant teens, never say jack about their miscreant guardians." I said, still laughing at him.

"You're grounded."

"I'm emancipated."

"In that case, I'll get your friends' parents to ground them and then you won't have anyone to go out with." He said defiantly.

"Solid plan, Ric." I said, before looking back at him seriously. "Look, I know you would never do any of these things on purpose, and I'm like 60% sure you didn't do it, but I have to ask—did you do what they're accusing you of?"

"60%? Very comforting." He huffed.

"Alaric..."

"No, of course I didn't do it!" He snapped. "I have no idea why Meredith would accuse me of doing it either. Now unless you plan on interrogating me, then you can leave like you usually do."

"Hey!" I shot back. "I know that you're angry and you're antsy because you're in jail but if you ever talk to me like that again then it's the last time you talk to me ever."

"Iliana, I'm sorry." He said with a sad sigh. "I just don't know what's happening and I hate that."

"I can relate." I told him sadly. "But I'll get you out."

"And how do you plan on doing that?" He asked sceptically.

"By convincing a certain doctor to recant her statement." I walked out and met Sean talking to Elena. The opposite of what I would like.

"It actually shot through her nose?" Sean asked her in a fit of laughter.

"Literally! I thought Jeremy would never recover." She said, laughing too.

"Don't tell him that story!"

"No, I'm glad she did." Sean said still laughing. "Through your nose! And here I thought you didn't drink sprite because of all the chemicals."

"Whatever." I said, trying to stifle my laughter. "The look on Jer's face though. Forever imprinted in my mind."

"Mine too." Elena continued. "It was like confusion, disgust and fear all wrapped up into one."

"Yeah." I shared a smile with Elena but I wasn't exactly sure I was ready to forgive her just yet.

"Anyway, I need to go to the hospital to see Meredith and I don't wanna drag you around Sean so why don't I text Caroline and ask her to take you out for the day?"

"I can do it." Elena piped up. "I actually really like Sean. Plus, according to his Instagram comments, he thinks I'm cute."

"Don't even get started on that." I said, rolling my eyes at the two of them. "Anyway, it has to be Caroline, she'll kill me if I don't let her meet him."

"Okay, then I'll come with you to the hospital." Elena continued.

"You don't need to do that." I told her.

"I do. Alaric is family. And so are you." She told me. I sighed knowing she wasn't going to give up on this.

"Fine."

"Can I drive?" She asked.

"You mean can you drive my Bentley?" I asked her in disbelief.

"Yeah!" She said, wiggling her eyebrows weirdly at me.

"I love that car more than I love you!" I said, shaking my head at her profusely.

"Ouch." She said with a chuckle.
