~Klaus POV~
"Hm. Poor lad. Loses one questionable father figure only to be replaced by the likes of you two." Klaus said with a smug look.
"About that—"
"Don't worry. I am all too aware about my mother's invulnerable little creation. That's why I'm here. I'm leaving town, just need to pick up a few road trip necessities. Spare tire, flashlight, doppelganger."
"Which one?" Damon asked.
"It doesn't matter which one. He's not allowed to take either!" Stefan reminded his brother. "Sorry, can't help you there."
He stepped back inside and slammed the door shut on Klaus, only to be met by Elena's worried face.
"He can't take her." She told the two frantically. "No, he can't have her! She's my twin! I need her, she is not his!"
"Elena, we won't let him take her, okay?" Stefan said as he clutched her shoulders. "I promise."
"What if we can't stop him?" She said worriedly. "I have to go. I have to go with her."
"Elena..." But Elena had already run upstairs in the hopes of finding her sister. Stefan had followed and found Elena going through the rooms.
"Jer, where's Iliana?" Elena asked her brother.
"I thought she was in her room." Jeremy replied.
"Where is she?" Damon questioned as he joined them.
"She's gone."
"What do you mean she's gone?" Damon asked. "I thought we were protecting her?"
"Yeah, well we're not very good at it." They all traipsed down the stairs and Bonnie gave them a funny look."
"Hey, what's going on?" She asked them.
"Cliff notes version, Klaus wants in, we gotta keep him out." Damon explained. "Speaking of Klaus, DUCK!"
A newspaper smashed into the room and Stefan grabbed Bonnie, bringing her down onto the ground and protecting her.
"We really aren't good at this."
~Iliana POV~
I parked my red Veyron and braced myself as I walked into the high school. Alaric was alive. Always a plus, but he was very bad Alaric, always a down side. I heard Caroline's cries and I started to move quicker hoping to find her. I finally came across Alaric sitting at a desk and Caroline staked down onto the desk.
"Alaric, let her go!" I growled.
He shrugged and pointed at her.
"Free her yourself."
I stared at him, trying to analyse his intentions before cautiously walking up to Caroline. I rubbed her arm, trying to calm her down before pulling the pencils out of her hands but the minute I did he jammed the pencils right back in. She screamed and I jerked away, startled by him.
"You said I could free her!" I snapped.
"How many times do I have to tell you, Iliana?" Alaric said disappointedly. "Stop trusting vampires!"
~Stefan POV~
"Why wouldn't she tell anyone where she was going?" Elena asked them all worriedly.
"Her Bentley's still here." Damon told them all.
"What?" Jeremy asked in surprise. "Have you met Iliana? Iliana doesn't walk."
